Architecture - Updates Module

Overview

The updates module composes update state management, release manifest and delta-pipeline behavior, migration and rollout control, and scheduling/notification/telemetry integration into a bounded subsystem.

Main Execution Planes

1. State and manifest plane

• update state machine, manifests, config, and history behavior

2. Patch and migration plane

• delta engine, schema migration, build verification, and dependency behavior

3. Rollout and operations plane

• cluster/coordinated update, canary/blue-green, scheduler, health-check, and telemetry behavior

Core Contracts

state contract	deterministic update transition and rollback semantics
manifest contract	explicit manifest serialization and validation behavior
patch/migration contract	bounded delta and schema update behavior
rollout contract	observable coordination, health-check, and traffic-shift behavior

Failure Semantics

• invalid update transitions and rollback faults remain explicit.
• manifest and patch-generation/apply failures are diagnosable.
• migration and dependency faults remain observable and non-silent.
• rollout and preflight failures surface deterministic outcomes.
