Importers Module - Future Enhancements

Scope

  • hardening and refinement of multi-connector import runtime behavior
  • expansion of deterministic reliability under sustained ingestion and conflict pressure
  • stronger benchmark-backed guardrails for importer hot paths

Design Constraints

  • importer contracts remain backward compatible within major release line.
  • validation and conflict behavior remain explicit and deterministic.
  • connector degradation/unsupported paths remain bounded and observable.
  • audit and integrity signals remain traceable under load.

Required Interfaces

Interface Requirement
connector interfaces deterministic source validation/import execution semantics
schema interfaces explicit inference/validation/mapping behavior
conflict/integrity interfaces bounded conflict strategy and auditability semantics
enrichment interfaces stable MDM/advanced post-processing behavior

Implementation Notes

  • tighten parity and edge handling across relational/document/stream/file/object connectors.
  • standardize diagnostics for schema, conflict, and capability mismatch incidents.
  • expand resilience tests for prolonged high-throughput ingestion and mixed strategies.
  • broaden benchmark depth for CDC/stream and integrity-intensive import paths.

Test Strategy

  • unit and integration suites for connector, schema, conflict, and audit flows.
  • regressions for unsupported connector/degraded capability and malformed schema paths.
  • deterministic stress runs for high-volume mixed-source ingestion.
  • release-profile benchmark runs for mapped importer targets.

Performance Targets

  • parser/import and control-plane paths remain inside regression budgets.
  • importer hot paths remain stable at p95/p99 envelopes.
  • mapped benchmark manifests reach no-missing-case status for release gating.

Security / Reliability

  • maintain strict source/schema checks before import commit.
  • preserve explicit conflict/capability failure signaling.
  • enforce bounded behavior in CDC/stream/object-source degraded modes.
  • keep diagnostics actionable for production ingestion incidents.
