Condition: FA3-audit-document vorhanden with FA-version-clarity
Evidence:

  • Document: src/llm/attention/FLASH_ATTENTION_VERSION_EVIDENCE.md
  • Finding: Current SM90 path uses FP32 tiled kernel (NOT FA3-class primitives)
  • No WGMMA/TMA detected in current implementation
  • Recommendation: FA3 optimization is a future optimization opportunity (not blocking)

Gate P0-GATE-02: GGUF-SSM Status Documented βœ…

  • Finding: Production Mamba/SSM GGUF models not yet available in llama.cpp ecosystem

  • Status: pending_measurement (artifact contract ready; benchmark executable to follow in Phase 0/1)

Status: βœ… PASS (artifact contract frozen; execution deferred to dedicated benchmark target)

Gate P0-GATE-04: ctest -L release_critical Passing ⏳

Status: ⏳ DEFERRED (CMake not yet configured; no tests registered with release_critical label yet)
Next step: Configure and build project per repository setup guidelines; gates will pass once test infrastructure is operational


Key Decisions & Constraints

1. FA3 Optimization Deferred

  • Current SM90 path is functional but not FA3-optimized (no WGMMA/TMA)
  • Optimization is optional for Phase 1 (POC) and Phase 2 (Beta)
  • Can be added in Phase 4 (GA Hardening) as performance enhancement

2. Mamba Availability Strategy

  • Immediate: Use synthetic SSM stub in Phase 1 for dataflow validation
  • Future: Real Mamba models via llama.cpp GGUF when ecosystem supports them
  • Fallback: Always keep transformer path as guaranteed recovery path

3. Governance Baseline Established

  • ThemisDB remains System-of-Record for all model data
  • RocksDB used only as internal persistence layer
  • SSM state requires explicit tenant isolation + audit trail
  • No external state database or sidecar allowed

4. NVFP4 KV-Cache Readiness

  • Config API already present in PagedKVCache::Config
  • Quantized storage implementation deferred to Phase 2 (P2-D01)
  • Zero runtime impact in Phase 1 (feature flag disabled by default)

Phase 0β†’Phase 1 Transition

All Phase 0 Acceptance Gates: βœ… PASS (except P0-GATE-04 pending build config)

Phase 1 Prerequisites Met:

  • βœ… FA3 status clarity documented
  • βœ… NVFP4 assessment positive for Phase 2
  • βœ… GGUF-SSM constraints and governance defined
  • βœ… Baseline measurement contract frozen
  • βœ… No blocking gaps identified

Proceed to Phase 1 (POC) with:

  1. P1-D01: ISSMPlugin interface design + human review
  2. P1-D02: SSMStateStore interface + in-memory implementation
  3. P1-D03: Synthetic SSM stub for dataflow validation
  4. P1-D04: Infini-attention CPU fallback
  5. P1-D05: Drift metrics integration
  6. Plus supporting deliverables P1-D06 through P1-D08

  4. Parallel: Complete build/test infrastructure configuration (CMake, ctest gates)
