Task Manager Automations
The Task Manager runs small, repeatable NPC-trading and shopping errands in the background for whichever connected character you choose. You pick a task, press start, and it works on its own — no typing in-game commands required.
You'll need at least one character connected to the app (see Getting-Started if you haven't set that up yet). Most tasks also expect your character to be standing near the NPC the task trades with — the task descriptions below note which NPC or exchange each one uses.
The Task Manager currently includes twelve tasks:
Buys Acheron Shields from a nearby Sparks-of-Eminence exchange NPC, then sells them for gil while you're idle. Has an auto-sell opt-out checkbox if you'd rather keep what it buys instead of always selling it (on by default).
Buys Prize Powders from a nearby Accolades exchange NPC, then sells them for gil while you're idle. Also has an auto-sell opt-out checkbox.
Buys Centurion's Axes with Conquest Points from a nearby conquest overseer, then sells them for gil while you're idle. Also has an auto-sell opt-out checkbox.
Trades your Gobbie Box keys into a nearby Gobbie Box NPC, repeating until you're out of matching keys. Nothing is sold as part of this task.
Trades unwanted Puppetmaster attachments to the NPC Tateeya, repeating until none remain. Nothing is sold as part of this task.
Trades Millioncorn to the NPC Melyon for fame, three at a time, for as long as you're standing near them.
Trades Zinc Ore to the NPC Talib for fame, four at a time from a single stack.
Uses up every Escha currency pouch (Bead Pouch / Silt Pouch) in your inventory, one at a time, until none remain. No NPC is needed for this one — just stand idle and let it run.
Trades every unlearned Trust Cipher in your inventory to the nearest Alter Ego NPC (Gondebaud, Clarion Star, or Wetata), skipping any Trust you already know, until none remain.
Uses every magic scroll in your inventory whose spell you haven't learned yet, one at a time, while you stand idle. No NPC needed.
Walks your character to every still-missing Home Point in your current zone and registers it automatically, one at a time, then stops. Shows how many are still missing in your current zone and across all zones. Requires a walkable nav mesh for the zone and at least one prior zone-in so Buddypal has the travel data it needs — you'll get a clear on-screen reason if either is missing. A failed or unreachable Home Point is skipped rather than stopping the run, and you can Stop the collector at any time.
The same idea as Home Point Collector, but for each zone's Survival Guide.
Trading, registering, and shopping tasks like these are separate from the Craft Manager's own optional automated queue and from the Fishing Manager's automation — but all of them report their running status through the same character card / Task Manager status system described below.
- At the top of the Task Manager, select the connected character you want the task to run for.
- Find the task's card and press the ▶ button to start it.
- Each task card shows a status badge reflecting its current state: Idle, Running, Stopped, or Error.
- Press ⏹ on a running task's card to stop it early at any time.
Tasks also stop themselves automatically once they run out of the relevant currency, hit a weekly limit, or run out of inventory space to sell into.
Every task card includes a small live output console. As the task works, timestamped status lines scroll in automatically, and the view auto-follows the newest line so you always see current activity. If you scroll up to read earlier lines, auto-scrolling pauses so it doesn't yank the view away from what you're reading — it resumes automatically once you scroll back down to the bottom.
Buying and selling handled by these tasks is a separate mechanism from the automatic Sell/Drop/Move rules you can set up per item in Inventory-and-Bag-Profiles.
This app is unofficial third-party software, and using any third-party tool alongside FFXI carries some risk under the game's terms of service. If a task isn't behaving as expected — stuck on Error, not finding its NPC, and so on — check Troubleshooting-and-FAQ.
