Clipboard
ARCHMAC uses the Wayland clipboard stack:
wl-clipboardcliphist- an application launcher/menu pipeline
- Hyprland binding: Super + Shift + V
Normal application copy/paste remains:
Ctrl + C
Ctrl + V
Clipboard history is opened with:
Super + Shift + V
Wayland applications do not necessarily keep clipboard data alive after the source application exits.
A clipboard history service solves this by watching clipboard changes and storing entries.
The ArchWiki Hyprland guidance uses wl-paste --watch with cliphist store and a launcher pipeline that decodes the selected item back into wl-copy.
ARCHMAC follows that architecture while using its own binding.
command -v wl-copy
command -v wl-paste
command -v cliphist
cliphist list | head
pgrep -af 'wl-paste|cliphist'printf 'ARCHMAC clipboard test\n' | wl-copy
wl-pasteExpected:
ARCHMAC clipboard test
Before clearing anything important, inspect it:
cliphist listIf you deliberately want to wipe clipboard history:
cliphist wipeIf Super + Shift + V opens nothing:
- confirm Hyprland saw the binding
- confirm
cliphistis installed - confirm one or more
wl-paste --watch ... cliphist storewatchers are running - confirm the menu/launcher used by ARCHMAC is installed
- test the pipeline manually
- only then edit the config
Do not change the binding to Super + V merely because that is used in upstream examples.
