GitHub's Apple jobs are pinned to Xcode 26.3. On current
main, the Mac job stops before tests because Swift 6.2.4 aborts while generating code forPreferencesWindow.swift; the same compiler crash appears on the earlier148a88c7main commit. This draft tries GitHub's macOS 26 arm64 image with Xcode 26.6 for the Mac, iPad build, and engine jobs. BitMatch's macOS 15.5 deployment target is unchanged. It changes the CI toolchain, not application behavior or test scope.
Unverified; do not merge yet.
git diff --checkpasses locally, but this Mac has Xcode 27.1 and cannot reproduce the 26.3 crash. The GitHub trial was canceled when the account's Actions credits ran out. One Xcode 26.6 engine job had already failed, so upgrading the toolchain alone is not enough. The failure needs diagnosis and a fresh full run when Actions is available again.
