HYWE classifies its progress across two different dimensions: Epistemic Status (what do we know?) and System Status (what state is the implementation in?).

Epistemic Status

  • Implemented — exists and is testable
  • Demonstrated — supported by experiment
  • Hypothesis — proposition under investigation
  • Future — not yet implemented

What HYWE Currently Is

HYWE is currently an experimental browser-based spatial exploration tool focused on early-stage architectural organization. The system investigates how spatial relationships, hierarchy, adjacency, and topology may be encoded computationally before formal geometry is fully resolved.

Current Areas of Exploration

  • Relational spatial syntax
  • Hierarchical organizational structures
  • Graph-driven topology
  • Interactive spatial encoding
  • Configuration generation
  • Boundary-aware organization
  • Alternate sequence interpretation
  • WebGPU-based massing
  • Reproducibility and benchmarking
  • Analytical reporting

Current Focus

HYWE currently focuses on architectural programming, spatial organization, topology exploration, computational interpretation, and deterministic configuration logic, rather than finalized architectural production workflows.

What HYWE Is Not Currently

  • a BIM platform
  • a structural solver
  • a construction documentation system
  • a material simulation engine
  • a finalized generative design platform

Many ideas discussed throughout the project remain experimental research directions rather than implemented functionality.
