Summary

Adds Polish (pl) as an interface language, in the same shape as the Czech (#335) and French (#413) tables.

  • crates/ui-egui/src/i18n/pl.rs: all 381 keys of the reference (Japanese) table.
  • i18n.rs: Language::Pl (name "Polski", code pl, system tags pl-* / pl_*), appended to the end of ALL, so the switcher lists it last.
  • app.language.set help and error text, and the snapshot example usage, list pl.
  • docs/localization-parity.md and ROADMAP.md list Polish under the other shipped languages.

Like the other tables, this covers only what the ribbon catalog covers today (ribbon, sheet tabs, widgets, Backstage labels). Dialogs, menus, panes and messages stay English until the catalog grows.

Clean room

Every entry is written from the meaning of the English label in ordinary Polish computing vocabulary. No Microsoft Excel (or other product) localisation, string table or translated UI was consulted or copied. I am a native Polish speaker. The table was drafted with Claude (AI agent) and I went through every entry myself; no second native speaker has reviewed it yet.

Format Cells dialog

The Format Cells dialog uses 56 labels. 20 of them were already in the Polish table (Number, Currency, Accounting, Left, Center, …), and 7aad174 adds the other 36 (Format Cells, Alignment, Font, Border, Protection, Wrap text, Shrink to fit, Bold, Italic, Subscript, Superscript, Locked, Hidden, No Color, Outline, Diagonal ↗/↘, Single/Double Accounting, …).

A follow-up commit adds the keys that #788 introduces: the Format Cells|Fill tab ("Wypełnienie"), the seven border styles, and the protection note.

#788 is merged, so the Format Cells dialog now looks these labels up and shows them in Polish. The other dialogs follow once #669 lands; it uses the same keys.

The latest merge of main also adds the six Page Setup margin labels (Left/Right/Top/Bottom/Header/Footer Margin) that the reference table gained, and keeps Serbian (new on main) next to Polish.

What does not change

  • Formulas. Polish keeps the canonical en-US formula locale, like every interface language except Spanish: English function names, , separators, . decimals. A test pins this (=SUMA(1;2) is not accepted).
  • Number formats, regional settings, storage and command ids are untouched.
  • No new assets and no fonts.

Tests

  • Catalog completeness requires a non-empty Polish label for every reference key.
  • Page Layout|Orientation vs Orientation context keys, pass-through of unknown text (Sheet1!A1), pl-PL / pl_PL.UTF-8 / parse("pl").
  • interaction.rs: app.language.set with pl renders the ribbon and round-trips through ui.json.
  • formula_locale.rs: polish_interface_retains_its_canonical_formula_fallback.

Ran locally (Rust 1.95.0): cargo fmt --all --check clean; cargo test -p gridcraft-ui-egui --test formula_locale --test interaction passes (10 + 25); --lib theme passes (12).

Two failures that are already on main (3926d21) and are not caused by this PR:

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added Polish as a supported interface language, with translated labels available in the app.
    • Polish is available in the language menu and listed among shipped languages and supported language options.
    • Polish locale tags select the Polish interface.
  • Compatibility
    • Formulas and number formats continue to use English-style conventions when the Polish interface is selected.

A 381-entry table covering every key of the reference (Japanese) table,
registered as a Pl variant in the Language enum (name "Polski", code pl,
system tags pl-* / pl_*). Written from the meaning of the English labels;
no other product's localisation was consulted.

Formulas and number formats keep the canonical en-US locale; a test pins it.

Keeps both new interface languages: Serbian from main and Polish from
this branch (enum, ALL, names, codes, tags, lookup and tests).

Brazilian Portuguese had 377 catalog entries, so most dialogs, menus and
tooltips showed in English with the interface set to Português (Brasil).
This adds every key the other catalogs translate (counting the open
Spanish-dialog #669, Russian #676, Czech #652, Polish #650, Turkish #663
and Italian #713 PRs), bringing pt-BR to 923 entries.

Keeps both formula-locale tests and both localization-parity rows
(Polish ribbon catalog, Brazilian Portuguese dialog catalog).

main now has the Format Cells lookup (storytold#788) and six new reference keys
(the Page Setup margins); this adds their Polish entries and keeps both
localization-parity rows.

main's Backstage Recent list added ten reference keys (Modified, Not
available, Just now, Yesterday and the {n} … ago forms).

A reference key main added; the catalog test requires it in Polish.

Keeps both changes to localization-parity.md's status line and both sets of progress-log rows.

Resolves localization-parity.md the same way as i18n-pl (storytold#650, 2a7a576), which this branch is stacked on: both status-line changes and both sets of progress-log rows.

Comment thread crates/ui-egui/src/i18n/pl.rs Outdated
The conditional-formatting rules pick the highest or lowest values, so "10 pierwszych elementów" and "Pierwsze 10%" (first items) read wrong. They are now "10 największych wartości", "10% największych wartości", "10 najmniejszych wartości" and "10% najmniejszych wartości".
