Brazilian Portuguese had 377 catalog entries, so most dialogs, menus and tooltips showed in English with the interface set to Português (Brasil). This adds the 546 strings that other catalogs already translate (counting the open Spanish-dialog #669, Russian #676, Czech #652, Polish #650, Turkish #663 and Italian #713 PRs), bringing pt-BR to 923 entries, the full union of keys across those catalogs. Strings that only #669 starts looking up will take effect once it lands. It follows the same approach as #676.

Terminology

  • Feature names follow the ones Excel uses in its Brazilian Portuguese interface: Planilha / Pasta de Trabalho, Colar Especial, Atingir Meta, Gerenciador de Nomes, Localizar e Substituir, Ir para Especial, Segmentação de Dados, Minigráficos, Preenchimento Relâmpago, Teste de Hipóteses, Estatística descritiva, Teste t / Teste F, and so on. Only the feature names, no other wording copied.
  • Matches the conventions already in pt.rs: Title Case for commands and ribbon labels, sentence case for descriptions and dialog fields.
  • Generic keys are translated for every place they are used: Add is both a Paste Special operation and a button, so the operations use verbs (Adicionar, Subtrair, Multiplicar, Dividir); Down/Up are the Fill menu (Para Baixo, Para Cima); Dismiss is a close button (Fechar).
  • Placeholders ({count}, {file}, {sheets}, {n}…), trailing …, \n line breaks in two-line ribbon labels, and keyboard shortcuts are kept in every entry. Paste Special access letters stay Latin, as in the Spanish and Russian catalogs.

Checks

A native-speaker review is welcome. The table still says "no" for native review.
