Slides: Ctrl+Shift+click selects a range, also in the slide sorter - #1107
New command slide.selectRange {to, from?, add?}: selects every slide between the current slide (or from) and to.
Slide list: Shift+click selects the range; Ctrl+Shift+click adds the range to the slides already selected. Before, Ctrl+Shift+click only added the clicked slide.
Slide sorter: Shift+click and Ctrl+Shift+click do the same (it had no range selection).
Tests: three engine tests (range both ways, add keeps the selection, out-of-range input is refused). fmt, clippy -D warnings, the engine and ui-egui test suites, assets, layers and the wasm check pass. I couldn't build the desktop app here (no ALSA), so I haven't tried the clicks in the running app.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Select an inclusive range of slides with Shift-click in the sorter and thumbnail views, extending forward or backward from the range anchor.
Use Command/Ctrl+Shift-click to add a range to the existing selection.
Command/Ctrl-click without Shift continues to add an individual slide to the selection.
Clicking without modifiers continues to navigate to the selected slide.
Subsequent Shift-clicks extend the range from its original anchor.

Walkthrough
The engine adds slide.selectRange for inclusive slide selection in either direction. The slide sorter and thumbnails call it for Shift-click. Command/Ctrl enables additive selection. Selection state stores a range anchor.

Summary
Store range state and implement selection crates/engine/src/lib.rs, crates/engine/src/cmd/slide.rs
Selection stores an optional range anchor. The engine validates range endpoints, selects slides inclusively, optionally preserves existing selections, updates the current slide, and clears shape, text, and cell selections. Tests cover direction, additive selection, anchor behavior, and invalid inputs.
The sorter and thumbnails call slide.selectRange for Shift-click. Command/Ctrl enables additive selection. Sorter tests cover range extension and additive selection. The roadmap records the behavior and its revision-history entry.

Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #1105 requires Ctrl+Shift+click range selection in the slide list and sorter. The selected slide and all slides between it and the anchor must be selected.
Whole-PR diff (merge base a0eeb34 to head 121441a) shows the following:
crates/engine/src/cmd/slide.rs adds slide.selectRange. It selects the inclusive range from from, else the stored range_anchor (only when it ends at the current slide), else the current slide, to to. It works in both directions. With add: true it keeps the existing selection. It sets the current slide to to. It rejects a missing to, an out-of-range to or from, and an invalid from through opt_usize_param.
crates/ui-egui/src/thumbs.rs routes Shift-click to slide.selectRange with add set from Command. Ctrl+Shift-click therefore adds the range. Plain Shift-click replaces the selection and sets the current slide to the clicked slide.
crates/ui-egui/src/sorter.rs routes Shift-click and Ctrl+Shift-click to slide.selectRange. This covers the sorter objective.
Six engine tests in slide.rs cover both directions, additive selection, repeated Shift-click anchoring, invalid input, cell-selection clearing, and anchor behavior after a move.
Unverified points:
The sorter kittest in sorter_tests.rs was not read in this review. Its result rests on the author's summary and the prior assessment.
The desktop click behavior was not run.
The issue phrase 'the last selected one' is met for the Shift-click path, where the anchor is the current slide. The diff does not show whether a plain Ctrl+click moves the current slide to the Ctrl+clicked slide. select_slides clears range_anchor, but the diff does not show its full body. A sequence of Ctrl+click followed by Ctrl+Shift+click may therefore anchor on the earlier current slide. This is not established as a defect.
No unmet coding requirement is established.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
Every changed area supports #1105:
slide.selectRange and its engine tests (crates/engine/src/cmd/slide.rs).
Shift and Ctrl+Shift click routing in the slide list (crates/ui-egui/src/thumbs.rs). The removed inline Shift-click range code is replaced by the new command. The new path also sets the current slide and clears the selection, as before.
Shift and Ctrl+Shift click routing in the slide sorter (crates/ui-egui/src/sorter.rs).
The range_anchor field in Selection (crates/engine/src/lib.rs). It keeps the anchor across repeated Shift-clicks.
range_anchor resets in go_to and select_slides. This stops the anchor from persisting across other selection paths.
Sorter test (crates/ui-egui/src/sorter_tests.rs), which exercises the same gestures.
A two-line ROADMAP.md entry that documents the feature.
The PR description says three engine tests. The diff contains six. The extra tests cover behavior of the same feature, so they do not add out-of-scope work. The PR description also does not mention the sorter test or the anchor-retention behavior. This is a description gap, not unrelated work. No unrelated implementation is found.

Nice change: moving the range logic into one slide.selectRange command and calling it from both the thumbnail list and the sorter is cleaner than the old three-call sequence in thumbs.rs.
cargo test -p deckcraft-engine select_range: the 3 new tests pass.
The real gesture, with a throwaway egui_kittest test in the sorter (not committed), 4 slides, clicks sent with modifiers: click slide 1 gives {1}; Shift+click slide 3 gives {1,2,3}, current slide 3; click 1 then Ctrl+click 2 then Ctrl+Shift+click 4 gives {1,2,3,4}; click 1 then Ctrl+Shift+click 3 gives {1,2,3}. All as expected. I did not drive the thumbnail panel the same way (same command, different call site).
Read against AGENTS.md: no unwrap/indexing on input data in the command (skip/take plus an explicit bounds check, min/max before b - a), tests cover backwards ranges, add, and rejected input.
Points:
The old thumbnail Shift path went through slide.go, which also resets selection.cells and sets target = Slides. select_range (like select_slides) only clears shapes and text. If a table cell range is selected and you then Shift+click a slide, I would expect the cell selection to be dropped; worth a quick check or a sel.cells = None there. I did not test this.
from uses usize_param, so a present but invalid from (-1, "2") silently falls back to the current slide, while an out-of-range one is rejected. Other index params are moving to opt_usize_param (see #1189); using it here would reject bad input consistently, and rejects_out_of_range could get a "from": -1 case.
No UI-level test for the gesture itself (the two call sites are the only change in thumbs.rs/sorter.rs). The kittest above is about 25 lines using event_modifiers; happy to share it if useful.
Thanks — one slide.selectRange command is a nice consolidation. Two small fixes in select_range (crates/engine/src/cmd/slide.rs): read from/to with opt_usize_param so an invalid from (e.g. -1) is an error instead of silently using the current slide, and clear sel.cells next to sel.text (the old path through slide.go did). Also, PowerPoint extends a second Shift+click from the original anchor; setting sel.slide = to moves the anchor.
Set Selection.target to Target::Slides in slide.selectRange.
The sorter can remain open while a master target is active. A Shift-click then preserves that target, so returning to Normal view shows the master surface instead of the clicked slide. The previous Shift-click path called slide.go, which reset the target.

…clears cells and returns to the slides; a bad `from` is an error (storytold#1105)
Review on storytold#1107: read `from` with opt_usize_param, clear `sel.cells` and set
`target = Slides` as `slide.go` did, keep the anchor of the first Shift-click.
A kittest drives the Shift and Ctrl+Shift clicks in the slide sorter.

Thanks both. Pushed ac7ca72: from is read with opt_usize_param, so a bad from is an error (test added). The range clears sel.cells and sets target = Slides like slide.go did (CodeRabbit's note too). A second Shift+click now extends from the first anchor: the selection keeps (anchor, end) and uses it while the current slide is still end; a plain click or Ctrl+click starts over. A kittest in sorter_tests.rs drives Shift and Ctrl+Shift clicks in the sorter. @xc4pr thanks for running the gesture, the kittest follows the same steps.

New slide.selectRange {to, from?, add?} selects every slide between the current one (or

Ctrl+Shift+click adds it to the slides already selected. The sorter had no range selection
before, and in the list Ctrl+Shift+click used to add only the clicked slide.
