Analytics
MyGarage has two analytics views: one for a single vehicle, and one across your whole garage. Both are built from the records you've already entered — there's nothing extra to set up, though the charts get more useful the more history you have.
Both pages have a Help button that explains each section in place, so this page covers what the views are for rather than repeating every definition.
From a vehicle's detail page, open Analytics & Reports.
Total spend on the vehicle, how many months it covers, the monthly average, and the record count behind it. This is the honest answer to "what does this thing actually cost me?"
Spending by month, overlaid with 3-, 6- and 12-month rolling averages. A single expensive month is noise; a rolling average that keeps climbing is a trend. The three windows let you separate the two — the 3-month line reacts to recent changes, the 12-month line shows the long-run picture.
Projected spend for the next 6 and 12 months, based on your history. Useful for budgeting, and for the "is it worth keeping?" conversation.
Economy over time, in MPG or L/100km according to your units. On hour-metered vehicles this is replaced by an Engine Hours Efficiency Trend (fuel per hour) and an Engine Hours Accumulated chart — see Engine Hours Tracking.
Automatic flags when economy is dropping or trending down, with the recent figure against its baseline. It's not a diagnosis — economy falls in winter, towing, and city driving too — but it's a prompt to check tire pressure and service intervals before something expensive develops.
Months where spend departed noticeably from your normal pattern, with the amount, the baseline, and how far off it was. Most have an obvious explanation (a big service visit); the value is in the ones that don't.
Use the range selector on the card to choose the window: last 3, 6, or 12 months, current year, all time, or a custom start and end date. It defaults to the last 12 months, so a vehicle with years of history won't surface anomalies from long-closed chapters. The selection resets to the default each visit.

- Tread over time for each tire, so uneven wear between corners is visible in one place rather than one card at a time
- Projected life, the same distance-based estimate the tire card shows
- Distance on tire, summed over the tire's mount periods
- A readiness block naming the one reading to record next. Most tire numbers need two readings that each carry a tread depth and an odometer, so this says what is actually missing instead of leaving the panel blank.
This section is on the Analytics page only. The PDF report and the garage export do not include it yet.
Export the vehicle's analytics as a formatted PDF with charts — useful for resale, warranty claims, or handing a vehicle's history to a buyer.
PDF reports are generated in English regardless of your selected language. Translation of PDF output is planned but not yet implemented.
Analytics in the top navigation covers every vehicle at once.
Total cost of ownership across the fleet, and what each vehicle contributes.
A donut chart splitting spend into fuel, service, insurance, tax and the rest, with a per-category breakdown beside it. This is usually where people discover that fuel isn't their biggest line.
Which vehicles cost the most to run. Compare like with like — an older car with more maintenance may still be cheaper overall than a newer one with payments.
Household spend over time across all vehicles, so seasonal patterns (winter tires, holiday driving, registration renewals) become visible.
Side-by-side figures for every vehicle, sortable, for when the charts have told you that something differs and you want to know by how much.
Garage analytics can be exported for spreadsheet work. Values follow your configured currency and units.
Analytics is only as good as the records behind it:
- Log every fill-up, including partials. Gaps make economy figures wrong, not just incomplete.
- Enter service costs including parts. If you fit your own parts, record them as supplies so their cost lands on the visit.
- A few months of history is the minimum before trends and projections mean anything. Rolling averages need enough months to average.
- Currency and units follow your settings — change them in Settings → System and every figure re-renders. Values are stored independently of display units, so switching never alters your data.
