Welcome to the MyGarage documentation! MyGarage is a self-hosted vehicle maintenance tracker that helps you manage your vehicles, track maintenance history, monitor fuel economy, and store important documents—all without sending your data to third-party cloud services.

What is MyGarage?

MyGarage is a comprehensive vehicle maintenance tracking application designed for homelab enthusiasts and anyone who values privacy and data ownership. Built with modern web technologies (Python 3.14 + FastAPI backend, React 19 + Bun 1.3.14 frontend), it combines powerful features with ease of deployment.

  • VIN Decoding - Automatically pull vehicle details from the NHTSA database
  • Service Visits - Track maintenance with line items, tax/fees, and attachments
  • Reminders - Date, mileage, or smart maintenance reminders with due alerts
  • LiveLink Telemetry - Real-time OBD2 data, drive sessions, and DTCs via a WiCAN device or the Torque Pro app
  • POI Finder - Discover nearby auto shops, EV charging, and fuel stations
  • Fuel & DEF Tracking - Log fill-ups (and DEF for diesels) and analyze fuel economy trends
  • EV Charge Sessions - Charge level, start and end state of charge, and battery health
  • Engine Hours Tracking - Hour meters for ATVs, equipment, and generators, with hours-based reminders
