Build Area
The exact amount of lost of build volume will depend on the the parameters around your tool-head. More specifically, the tool-head board and umbilical tool-head mounting solution and printer.
Nevertheless, for the selected hardware listed in the compatibility section, the machine will lost 120mm in Y where the tool is docked. And, the occupation in the Y will persist at all Z position, as the dock is attached to the gantry.
There is no travel lost in X, but is is worth noting that the dock is 82mm wide.
It depends.
If you are on a 2.4 and don't need to print anything above 250mm height. Then, the answer is: no. Unless you really don't want to optimise the length of your umbilical.
On the other hand. The umbilical rubbing on the top panel has been reported to cause probe accuracy issues on the Trident. Thus, a top-hat is considered to be a requirement for Trident.
It is important to know how your build area is set up, to avoid collisions and potential damages.
MissChanger use the same build area configuration as the origin Voron 350mm. This build area set up stay the same between the single tool-head and the multi tool-heads mode, providing consistency. No matter which mode you are in, the command G1 X{number} Y{number} will bring the gantry to the same spot above the build plate. Also, the creator's (that is me) finds negative coordinates confusing.
Nevertheless, this behaviour can be change in the config, by bring the settings for [stepper_x] and [stepper_y] under the Session Variables section.
