29-29: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winParse Cargo.lock dependency arrays before comparing crate names.
Cargo.lock supports version-qualified dependency entries, such as
"smithay-client-toolkit 0.19.2". Ifwinitrecords"sctk-adwaita 0.10.1", line 29 fails even though the dependency is present. Line 32 performs a prefix match, so a valid dependency such as"ab_glyph_rasterizer"can trigger theab_glyphcheck.Extract dependency names and remove optional version suffixes before comparing them exactly.

Thanks @danielmigueltejedor! The window-controls change looks good. Two packaging cleanups:

ReviewerA — source-read COMMENT (not an approval)
I read the NOTICE hunk: it adds the attribution and the MIT licence text of sctk-adwaita (used by winit on Linux for vector window controls), saying its title-font features are off so no font is embedded. The attribution is appropriate. The functional change (GNOME Wayland window controls without bundled fonts) is in hunks I did not read; please check Cargo.toml and the lockfile enable only the intended features, and that the crate is pinned to the commit named in the NOTICE.
I ran nothing and have no exact-head CI result for this PR, so this is not an approval. Where a diff was long I read its code hunks rather than every generated or documentation line.
Status: waiting_author.
Thanks for the review and for catching those packaging issues! I've cleaned up the changes and verified that:
I also checked that the Adwaita dependency uses the font-free variant, without introducing bundled title fonts. The changes are now more focused and avoid unnecessary modifications to existing packaging. Thanks again for taking the time to review this! |
Hi @FredApps, thanks for reviewing the dependency and licensing changes! I've checked the current branch against your comments. The Linux-specific One clarification regarding provenance: the dependency is resolved through crates.io with a version and checksum in The additional packaging issues reported by @bflatastic have also been addressed: the existing font and Hayro notices are preserved without duplication, and the Flatpak manifest has only one Thanks again for the careful review. Exact-head CI and final maintainer approval remain separate checks. |

Thanks @danielmigueltejedor! Tested on headless GNOME Wayland (gnome-shell 48): the window now gets proper decorations and all controls work, and X11 rendering was pixel-identical to main. |
GNOME Wayland leaves window decorations to the client, but the desktop build did not enable a frame renderer. Enable winit’s Adwaita vector minimize, maximize/restore and close controls without a title-font renderer. The outer client frame intentionally omits title text; window titles remain available to the desktop and EffectCraft keeps its existing header UI.
The feature is Linux-only. X11 and compositors offering server decorations retain their existing frame path and backend-selection behavior. Include sctk-adwaita’s MIT notice in packaged NOTICE. No font or other asset files are added, no Cantarell is embedded, and no engine, GPU, UI implementation or tests change.
Validation with Rust 1.98.1 on Linux:
--no-fail-fast, usingLANG=C.UTF-8,LC_ALL=C.UTF-8,LANGUAGE=enso label-based tests use their expected English: 3,415 passed, 26 ignored, 6 failed. All six failures are existing GPU/CPU pixel comparisons:tests_fx_noise::{dust_strict_threshold_boundaries,dust_threshold_on_quantized_input,large_radius_medians,medians},tests_fx_stylize::posterize_thresholds_strobe_vignette,tests_fx_transition::grid_and_scale_wipes. Running the entire GPU library suite on a clean archive of unchanged upstream main0311bdc34d0dc10c2d18ff7875b4f52d483e5e27with the same compiler/profile/device environment gives 206 passed and the exact same six failures. No assertions are skipped or weakened; the repository gate retains these baseline comparison failures.KDE itself and native Windows/macOS execution were not available for runtime testing. Maintainers may need to authorize this fork’s GitHub Actions checks.
