🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winApply chart text color to pie data labels.
When a pie chart has data labels, this call passes
Rgba::WHITEinstead oftext_col. As a result, chart.options {"textColor":"#FF0000"}changes the chart title but leaves its data labels white. Pass the resolved chart text color to this label call.Proposed change

Thanks! A few things before this can land: (1) the colour is lost on save — |

On a dark theme a chart's title, axis labels, legend and data labels
render in a fixed grey and nothing could change them, though the model
already carries `text_color`. `chart.options {textColor}` now sets it
(#RRGGBB, accent1…accent6, tx1…, or null for the default) and refuses a
string that isn't a colour. docs/mcp.md mentions it.

Font Color with a chart selected answered and changed nothing: a chart
has no text runs to colour. It now sets the chart's text colour (title,
axes, legend and data labels), the same thing chart.options {textColor}
sets; a mixed selection still colours the other shapes' runs.

A chart's title, axis labels, legend and data labels were drawn in a fixed grey (0x595959) whenever `text_color` was unset, which is near-invisible on a dark theme. The renderer now resolves the theme's tx1 instead, so a chart is readable by default on Nocturne as well as on Harbor; an explicit colour still wins. A textColor set on a chart (chart.options, or Font Color with the chart selected) coloured the title, axes and legend but left a pie's data labels white. They stay white by default, on the slices, and follow a colour the chart's text was given. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…keeps it `Chart::text_color` was read from a .pptx (the axes', legend's or chart's `c:txPr`) but never written, and any edit drops the kept part and rebuilds it from the model, so a save after an edit lost the colour. The writer now puts it where PowerPoint keeps it: `c:txPr` on both axes, the legend, the data labels and the chart root, and the run defaults of the title's rich text (chart and axis titles). Nothing is written without a colour, so the theme default still applies on reading. Round-trip tests: a scheme colour with a lumMod, an RGB colour and no colour come back as set; a chart read with a `tx1` 65 %/35 % colour on its axis keeps it through a title edit and a rebuild of the part. The theme's bare text colour made chart text black on a light theme, where it used to be 595959. PowerPoint's default is `tx1` at lumMod 65000 and lumOff 35000: 595959 on a light theme, a light grey on a dark one, so the dark-theme fix stays. The render test now checks the light-theme title is dark but not black; the chart.options doc says what null gives. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Found by an AI agent building a deck on a dark theme through the MCP server: the chart's title,
axis labels, legend and data labels were nearly invisible, and nothing it tried could change
them.
format.colorwith the chart selected answered success and changed nothing (a chart hasno text runs to colour), and
chart.optionshad no colour parameter, although the model alreadycarries a
text_colorthat the renderer honours. Underneath, the renderer drew chart text withno colour of its own in a fixed grey (595959), which reads fine on a light theme and vanishes on
a dark one.
Three commits:
chart.options {textColor}sets the chart's text colour (#RRGGBB,accent1…accent6,tx1…, ornullfor the default) and refuses a string that isn't a colour; docs/mcp.mdmentions it.
format.colorwith a chart selected sets the same colour (title, axes, legend and data labels)instead of answering and doing nothing; a mixed selection still colours the other shapes' runs.
fixed grey. This is a small visible change: on a dark theme chart text is now light, and on a
light theme it takes the theme's dark text colour where it used to be grey. An explicit colour
still wins, so files that set one look as before.
Tests:
chart_options_text_color_sets_clears_and_refusesandformat_color_on_a_selected_chart_sets_its_text_color(engine), and the pixel testchart_text_follows_the_theme_when_it_has_no_colour_of_its_own(render), which renders a columnchart with and without a title on Nocturne and on Harbor and checks that the title adds light
pixels on the dark theme and dark pixels on the light one.
