Steam's desktop layout maps B to Escape on Valve controllers, so every B press opened the quit prompt. Escape no longer opens it while a Valve controller is connected.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Behavior Changes
    • Pressing Escape no longer opens the exit prompt when a supported Valve controller is connected.

Walkthrough

The settings overlay now checks for a connected Valve controller when Escape is pressed. If one is connected, Escape does not open the exit prompt.

Changes: Escape prompt handling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Controller detection and prompt condition
runtime/src/settings_overlay.cpp
Adds a check for SDL joystick vendor ID 0x28DE, excluding product ID 0x11FF. When a matching controller is connected, Escape does not open the exit prompt.

On Steam Deck setups where SDL reports the built-in controller as the virtual gamepad ID, pressing B can still open the exit prompt, so the fix may not work there. Narrow the 0x11FF exclusion before merging, unless Steam Deck is out of scope.
