[Medium impact] The reviewed changes appear safe to merge, with no new actionable issues found. SummaryAdds an application-owned shared HTTPX client and optional transport factory.
No new actionable issues were found. Pouyanpi removed the misplaced model-routing example, addressing its three earlier findings. The earlier overlapping-mount finding is also addressed: route validation now rejects mounts that would shadow guarded routes. All supplied previous threads were unnumbered, so none require a numbered finding entry. This was a code review; tests were not run.

storing the request headers, detecting whether either Content-Length or
Transfer-Encoding is present, and passing b"" instead of request.stream() for
bodyless requests. Update _request_headers to retain one valid Content-Length
for async-iterator bodies while preserving existing header handling and error
propagation.

…anup Port D-4 transport extensions and route corrections onto finalized streaming. Reuse D-1 response ownership for buffering, guarded streaming, and raw passthrough. Close acquired responses on handoff failures and bodyless paths, and use response-finally cleanup for disconnect before iteration or downstream send failure. …ering Reject upstream cookie persistence while preserving explicitly forwarded Cookie and Set-Cookie headers. Connection pooling must not carry one caller's session into another caller's request. Move pass-through request adaptation and response rendering into the router. ProviderTransport opens HTTP exchanges without depending on FastAPI or Starlette response construction; existing cancellation and response-ownership tests cover the handoff. Use one cooperative, shielded cleanup helper for the shared client and a transport whose ownership was not established. A hung or failing closer must not replace the startup failure or indefinitely hold up normal shutdown. Cover startup rollback timeouts and failures without logging private exception details. Summary
Adds application lifespan ownership of a shared HTTPX client and an optional
custom transport used across provider instances.
Why
Applications need to own connection resources and outbound routing policy.
A shared transport extension supports model routing, gateways, and custom
network behavior while keeping those decisions outside the guarded kernel.
How it works
The application can supply an
httpx.AsyncBaseTransportfactory. Assembly callsit once per lifespan and shares the resulting client and transport across
provider instances. The pooled client retains no upstream cookies; explicit
caller
Cookieand upstreamSet-Cookieheaders remain part of the exchange.Shutdown and failed-startup rollback attempt bounded, shielded HTTP cleanup
without replacing the original failure.
Guarded exchanges reach the transport after input inspection and return through
output inspection. Unrelated provider operations use streaming catch-all
forwarding without the guarded response-body limits. Identity encoding is
requested when inspected output requires it.
ProviderTransportopens the provider exchange. The pass-through router ownsASGI rendering and attaches response cleanup before body iteration, including
disconnects and downstream send failures.
A model-routing example uses an application-defined destination table, model
aliases, and destination-owned credentials. Client payload fields cannot choose
an arbitrary upstream, and caller credentials do not cross provider origins.
What Changed
ProviderTransportfor buffered, streaming, and pass-through exchanges.Review Notes
Review resource ownership on startup failure and shutdown, cancellation,
pass-through fidelity, and destination selection. Applications can implement
egress, TLS, recording, or routing policy through the transport; built-in retry
or load-balancing policy is not added. The application uses a statically
supplied checker.
Response cleanup uses the shared bounded, shielded helper. Ordinary close
failures are logged without replacing the primary outcome; cooperative cleanup
can be retried. Read timeouts and application shutdown remain separate policies.
Local focused transport, application, and lifecycle checks: 115 passed; additional
application/cleanup checks: 21 passed. Pre-commit passed.
