Bench quiet-host admission never admits on shared fdev: schedule a quiet window or a dedicated bench slot #5229
Parent Outcome: #5097
Work level: Delivery · Track: Active delivery · Intended Status: Ready
Owner
Root/fdev assigns.
Done when
Benchmark baselines that need a quiet host (FS.GG.Game #780 software re-baseline, FS.GG.Algorithms#1 kernel baselines, the #753 before/after numbers, and #792 game baselines) can actually run.
The problem: fdev's load5 sat at 5.6–9.3 against the 3.0 (0.25/core) threshold for hours, because parallel agent lanes share the host (Atlas environment/fdev-bulk-hdd-shared-and-host-memory), so the probe never admits.
Fix: a scheduled quiet window, for example a nightly or Root-declared bench window in which the coordinator pauses heavy lanes (no new builds or browser runs) and the bench queue drains. Or a dedicated bench slot such as cgroup or CPU-pinned isolation, if supported.
Mechanics: documented, with a queue of owed bench runs, an admission log, and evidence that at least one owed baseline completed through it.
Coordinator skill: the work-board/coord skill gets the rule to schedule the window when owed benches accumulate.
Current deliverable
None. Reported by the ALGO-01.2 owner (FS.GG.Algorithms#2/#3) and the #761 repair owner.
