What this adds

  • VK's second batch: am, cs, da, fil, hu, km, ko, lo, ms, no, ro, sv, zh-Hans and zh-Hant. Each one is about 76 % translated (check_translations).
  • The languages we already had (ar, bho, bn, de, hi, id, ja, ru, ur) keep our files. VK's de.json lost about 392 letters to "?".
  • Each new file gets its thousands separator and decimal mark from macOS's CLDR data.

Texts left out (they show in English)

  • A "?" in place of a letter: hu 22, da 2 (aboutText, enginePrerelease), sv 2 (aboutText, startingText), no 1 (aboutText), ro 1 (togetherStart).
  • Thai letters in Khmer and Lao words: km engineArmName, engineArmWhyDetail, togetherNoLinks, and lo profilePlayingNow. An Amharic "፤" in Khmer: km saveSyncNoFolder, engineGitBuiltAt.
  • English that says more now: replayBufferDetail and syncFolderNone, in every new file.
  • padBatteryAbout and presenceAppearOffline, which en.json no longer has.
  • reportLauncherDetail takes the repository's new name, as Use the repository's new name #48 did for the other files.
  • am exportThemeDetail ended with "፤". It ends with "።" now.
  • km checkForUpdatesDetail had the English sentence in brackets after the Khmer one. The brackets are gone.

The first start

  • Language.matchLocale picks the first of the computer's languages the launcher has.
  • zh, zh-CN and zh-SG read zh-Hans. zh-TW, zh-HK, zh-MO and any Hant locale read zh-Hant.
  • nb, nn and no read no.json. fil and tl read fil.json.
  • Only without a preferences file. A launcher that has one keeps its language.
  • The Mac launcher has the same rules (AnyTogether/AnyPS5-ARM, next PR).

The first step

  • 28 cards in six columns did not fit at 1600x900: the step overflowed by 102 px.
  • The step now has seven columns, and the cards share the space the step has.
  • A long name like Bahasa Indonesia is drawn smaller and is never cut off.

The check

  • _sentenceEnd accepts the Khmer khan "។".
  • A placeholder may stand in Chinese full-width brackets after the full stop: "。(%@)".
  • Lao ends sentences with "." and Amharic with "።", which the check already accepts.

Fonts

  • Figtree has Latin only. Flutter draws other scripts with a system font.
  • The deb now recommends fonts-noto-core and fonts-noto-cjk. fonts-noto-core has the Khmer, Lao and Ethiopic Noto fonts.
  • Windows and Linux rendering was not checked on a real machine. The goldens draw non-Latin text as boxes.

Checks

  • flutter analyze: no issues.
  • dart run tool/check_translations.dart: passes.
  • flutter test: two together tests failed under load, a different one in each full run. Both files pass alone, twice.
  • New goldens: update_notice for each new language, and onboarding_language.

…language

VK's second batch: Czech, Danish, Hungarian, Norwegian, Romanian, Swedish,
Filipino, Malay, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Khmer, Lao and
Amharic. The languages we already had keep our files.

Texts left out, so they show in English until VK sends them again:
- A "?" in place of a letter (the file was saved without UTF-8): hu 22,
  da 2, sv 2, no 1, ro 1.
- Thai letters inside Khmer and Lao words, and an Amharic mark in Khmer:
  km 5, lo 1.
- Two texts whose English says more now (replayBufferDetail,
syncFolderNone), and the two keys English no longer has.

The first start picks the computer's language. Chinese follows its script
or region, nb and nn read no.json, and tl reads fil.json. The first step
fits 28 languages, seven to a row, and draws a long name smaller.

The check accepts the Khmer full stop and a placeholder in Chinese
full-width brackets. The deb recommends the Noto fonts for the scripts
the launcher's own font lacks.
