fix(ci): create the Couchbase bucket with couchstore and no replica - #198
The mutation shards for ./drivers/couchbase fail on every PR that touches that package (seen twice on #197). The Couchbase integration tests time out with request canceled and unambiguous timeout.
Cause: since the compose image moved to Couchbase 8 (#167), scripts/seed-couchbase.sh never creates the test bucket.
Couchbase 8 uses the Magma storage backend and one replica by default. Community edition does not support Magma, and the single-node cluster cannot hold a replica.
couchbase-cli bucket-create therefore fails with Magma is supported in enterprise edition only. The script ran it with >/dev/null 2>&1 || true, so the error was hidden.
The primary-index step "passed" too, because cbq exits 0 after a fatal error. The script printed "Provisioned cluster, bucket iq_test, and primary index" with no bucket.
The coverage (couchbase) job was not affected, because it provisions its own throwaway test container.
Changes in scripts/seed-couchbase.sh:
The bucket is created with --storage-backend couchstore --bucket-replica 0 --wait.
cluster-init and bucket-create accept only their "already initialized" and "already exists" messages. Any other error stops the script and prints the output.
After the index step, the script checks that the bucket answers with HTTP 200 and that system:indexes lists the primary index. These checks do not need jq.
Verified locally against the compose container:
A fresh container provisions, and a second run on the same container succeeds.
TestGet and TestGetEmpty pass, and the full drivers/couchbase suite passes.
The old flags now make the script fail loudly instead of printing "Provisioned".
The sample-data path still seeds 4 documents.
shellcheck is clean.

Couchbase 8 uses the Magma storage backend and one replica by default.
Community edition does not support Magma. The compose cluster has one
data node, so it cannot hold a replica. The bucket-create command
failed, and the script hid the error. The primary-index step then
passed, so the script reported success without a bucket. Every
Couchbase integration test then timed out.
Create the bucket with --storage-backend couchstore and
--bucket-replica 0. Add --wait so the bucket is ready for the next
step.
Stop hiding errors. The cluster-init and bucket-create steps now accept
only the "already initialized" and "already exists" messages. Any other
error stops the script and prints the output on stderr.
Check the result after the primary-index step, because cbq exits 0 after
a fatal error. The script makes sure that the bucket answers with HTTP
200 and that system:indexes lists the primary index. It does not need
jq for these checks.

Walkthrough
The Couchbase seed script now tolerates only specified CLI errors, sets explicit bucket storage and replica options, and verifies the bucket endpoint and primary index after provisioning.
The script accepts successful commands and specified “already initialized” or “already exists” errors. Bucket creation now sets couchstore storage and zero replicas.
Bucket and index readiness checks scripts/seed-couchbase.sh
The script checks that the bucket endpoint returns HTTP 200, then polls for a primary index up to 15 times with two-second intervals. It exits with an error if either check fails.

Provisioning can finish before Couchbase queries are usable, and repeat runs against buckets with another primary index can fail. Verify the named primary index is online before merging.

only indexes whose state is online, so provisioning does not complete while the
index is still building.
- Line 106: Update the readiness query in the Couchbase index check to match the
bucket’s `#primary` index and require `state` to be `online`, rather than
accepting any primary index count. Keep the existing readiness flow unchanged.

CREATE PRIMARY INDEX can return while the index still builds. The
check counted any primary index of the bucket, so it could pass
before the index was ready, or on a different named primary index.
The check now requires the #primary index in the online state.
