Summary

Adds a self-contained landing page at docs/index.html (for GitHub Pages).

  • Direction: a warm, low-lit terminal aesthetic with a spinning-vinyl "now playing" hero. The live terminal interaction is intentionally not shown — that form isn't finalized yet — so the record stands in as the "always on the air" placeholder.
  • Palette: Charm (gum)-inspired — pink/mauve/mint on a dark plum ground.
  • English is the base language (title/meta/default content, for SEO); a quiet 中 / EN toggle swaps to Chinese.
  • Fully local: no external requests (system fonts, inline <style>/<script>, inline SVG/canvas). WCAG-AA contrast, visible focus, full prefers-reduced-motion rest state, no horizontal overflow.
  • Pages is intentionally left disabled until the ~60s demo clip is ready; merging this does not publish anything.
  • Copy is a first pass held constant during design exploration; tone (esp. Chinese) is still to be revised in a follow-up.

AI coding brief

  • Original request: Build a homepage for murmur (a fully-local companion radio), to eventually populate the repo's About "homepage" link. Why: groundwork for GTM / giving the project a front door. Content references the README/specs/DESIGN.md for facts but is written fresh in the page's own voice.
  • Manual interventions / human feedback:
    • English must be the base language (audience + SEO); Chinese authored first only as a tone-quality check — not the shipped default.
    • Copy must reference the specs, not lift/paraphrase them.
    • impeccable (the design skill) was installed and used, but its scaffolding (PRODUCT.md/DESIGN.md) must not be committed — kept local under .agents/.
    • Explored 4 directions in parallel; user chose the terminal one, then asked to replace its live-transcript hero with a vinyl record rendered in terminal style.
    • Generated 5 palette options (referencing gum/Charm and other themes); user picked charm.
  • Retro (prompt-to-ship faster): State up front: (1) English-base + Chinese-only-for-tone-check, (2) "reference the specs, don't copy," (3) don't commit tool scaffolding. Naming the desired visual directions and a palette reference (e.g. gum) earlier would have collapsed two review rounds into one.

A self-contained, English-base docs/index.html for GitHub Pages: a warm
low-lit terminal aesthetic with a spinning-vinyl "now playing" hero (the
terminal interaction form is not shown, since it is not finalized). Charm
(gum) palette. English default for SEO with a quiet 中/EN toggle; fully
local (no external requests), WCAG-AA, reduced-motion rest state. Pages
is intentionally left disabled until the demo clip is ready.

Rewrite all homepage copy (English base + Chinese toggle) in a plainer,
warmer voice: say the effect rather than compare, drop translationese and
literary affectation, and remove AI-cadence tells (em-dashes in prose,
manufactured-contrast aphorisms). Chinese authored first for tone, then
matched in the English base. Decorative chrome em-dashes swapped for middots.
