Click here to open the download page

Look for the latest version under the Releases section. Choose the file ending in .exe for Windows. Save this file to your computer.

⚙️ Setting up your system

calforge works on modern Windows computers. You need 50 MB of free disk space. The application does not change your system settings. It runs as a standalone program. You do not need to install complex frameworks or extra tools.

  1. Locate the file you downloaded.
  2. Double-click the file to start the application.
  3. Windows might show a security prompt. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway" if the system asks for permission.
  4. The main window will appear once the program starts.

📝 Creating your first event

You enter event details into the main screen. The software uses these details to build a calendar link.

  1. Title: Type the name of your event.
  2. Start Date: Select the day your event begins.
  3. End Date: Select the day your event ends.
  4. Location: Type the address or link for the event.
  5. Description: Add notes about the event.

The tool formats your input as a valid ICS file. This is the standard file type used by all major calendar platforms.

🔗 Using the add-to-calendar links

calforge makes links for your website or emails. You can copy these links and send them to friends or colleagues. When a person clicks the link, their calendar application opens with the event details ready to save.

  • Google Calendar: Use this link to add the event directly to a Google account.
  • Outlook: This link works with both the desktop app and the web version.
  • Apple Calendar: This link triggers the event prompt on iPhones and Macs.
  • Yahoo: This link opens the Yahoo Calendar interface.

🛡️ Privacy and security

Many calendar tools track your visitors and collect data about your event attendees. calforge stays offline. No data leaves your machine unless you share the link yourself. This approach protects your privacy and the privacy of your guests. It meets the RFC 5545 standard to ensure compatibility across all systems.
