Download and Installation of Arcserve UDP’s components was originally a tedious process. Multiple downloaders and installers belied each component’s history as a standalone product. Unified Install allows the user to download a single downloader/installer shim that in turn supports selection of download/install/configuration of the desired components. Benefits are:
- A single file for the user to download and open in Windows.
- One-time configuration of environment-wide parameters.
- “Smart” default values for each component’s Express Install; option of full install wizards for Advanced Install.
- Supports easy download of only the desired components: especially important where bandwidth is costly.
- Consistent look/feel These wireframes were used to user test, iterate, and communicate the design to development.
Southwest’s Business Travel site was one of the original online airline booking tools, but its design hadn’t been touched for many years. Enhancements were needed to:
- Modernize and simplify flow for next release (R3)
- Enhance consistency with SWA’s consumer site
- Integrate feature requests
- Recommend enhancements for future releases (R4+). SWA’s UX research team user tested these wireframes. The R4+ enhancements were presented and shared with Marketing for future consideration.
