Not trying to stream video when wifi is turned off and both local and internet videos are enabled

I think it would be useful to have the app not try to stream online video when the internet is disconnected and local videos are available. For now it just leaves a blank screen until I click the skip button enough times to encounter a local video. The use for this would just be not having to add all videos to local storage (when new videos get added, like the recent tvOS 26 videos, for example) and potentially saving some bandwidth while streaming. Also, I don't know how the app handles duplicates when the video it tries to stream is available locally but I assume it defaults to local?

Good idea, I saw that recently as part of a comment left in a review on the Google Play Store.

I'm currently working on a bug fix release (v1.8.4) due next week, but I'll add this feature to the next version (v1.8.5).

As for de-duplication, it does preference local videos first.

Sure! Is it just me installing it on my phone and seeing if the feature works? Can I do it on my google tv box instead?

You can run it on both, but I am mostly interesting in the testing of playing videos from wifi vs mobile - as there's a new option to use data on wifi only.

The feature works. When selected to use wifi only and I turn it off, it says "no videos found" instead of infinitely loading. It still does that tho if it's set to use mobile data but it's not available. Still, this is probably gonna accomplish exactly what I need it to do.

For now the only time you get notified about something being wrong is when the wifi only option is toggled on. Otherwise it just says "loading" infinitely. I think it would be useful to have the same message for both options when the internet connection is not available.

That makes sense. I'll make some improvements to the loading message.

EDIT: It looks like I made a few mistakes on how the filtering and (new) playlist cache works - so I'll work in a new build and let you know.
