Overview

This PR improves the Lesson Plans workspace experience by adding magnetic panel positioning and a minimize option.

It also expands the story-driven lesson series with Lessons 7 and 8 and explores the existing localization infrastructure for supporting multilingual Practice lessons.

Changes

Lesson Plan Panel Improvements

  • Added magnetic positioning for draggable Lesson Plans panels.
  • Panels are pulled toward the right side when moved close to the magnetic area.
  • Added a minimize button alongside the close button.
  • Allows learners to temporarily reduce the Lesson Plans panel and regain workspace space.
  • Maintains the draggable workflow introduced previously.

New Lessons

  • Added Lesson 7 to the story-driven lesson series.
  • Added Lesson 8: The Starlight Sky Song.
  • Added the corresponding:
    • Story content
    • Musical activities
    • Extra actions
    • Contextual help
    • Discovery rewards
    • Explorer Journal connections

Localization Exploration

  • Explored the existing .po localization workflow in Music Blocks.
  • Investigated how Practice lesson content can be connected to the existing translation system.
  • Identified the structure required for supporting translated lesson content in future work.

Midpoint Evaluation

The project midpoint evaluation presentation was also prepared during this period.

Why?

As Lesson Plans become a larger part of the Music Blocks experience, learners need to be able to manage the Lesson Plans interface without losing access to the workspace.
At the same time, the addition of more lessons requires the infrastructure to remain scalable and maintainable.
The localization exploration is a step toward making the Practice experience accessible to learners using different languages.

Testing

  • Tested dragging Lesson Plans panels.
  • Tested magnetic positioning near the right side of the workspace.
  • Tested the minimize interaction.
  • Tested the newly added Lessons 7 and 8.
  • Verified that lesson-specific rewards, extra actions, contextual help, and Explorer Journal connections continue to work with the new lessons.
  • Explored the existing .po localization structure for future Practice lesson translations.
