What this changes

Fixes #2995.

The page controls in the right rail (Zoom out, Zoom in, Page display, Rotate view, Fit) had no way
to enter Full screen mode, which until now was only reachable from View ▸ Full screen mode and
Ctrl/⌘+L. This adds a Full screen button directly below Zoom out, as the issue asks.

  • The button runs the existing view.full_screen command once the view borrow ends, the same
way the Page display button next to it runs its command. Full-screen behaviour is unchanged.
  • Its label is the existing, already-translated "Full screen mode", so no catalogue changes.
  • Its icon is monitor, which is already shipped. The registry's maximize (and scan) are
corner brackets that look like the fit toggle a few buttons up, so a screen keeps the column
    readable. No new assets.

#1734 also changes the page controls in full screen; this only adds the button that enters it.

How you verified it

  • cargo fmt --check
  • clippy with -D warnings on pdfcraft-ui-egui (--all-targets)
  • tests pass on the crate I changed: all 41 pdfcraft-ui-egui test binaries, no failures
  • cargo xtask layers and cargo xtask assets

New test: commands::the_page_controls_full_screen_button_enters_full_screen. It checks the button
sits directly below Zoom out, then clicks it and checks full screen is on.

Tests. With the button removed, the test fails finding it. With the button drawn above Zoom
out instead, it fails the placement check. It passed again once restored. I also looked at the
rail in a headless screenshot (--example shot): the new icon is distinct from the fit toggle's.

Never-crash

  • No new unwrap/expect/panic!/unreachable!/todo! outside tests
  • No indexing or slicing with input-derived positions
  • No unsafe

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added a full-screen button to the right-side navigation, above Zoom out. Clicking it switches the app to full-screen mode.

The page controls in the right rail had no way to enter Full screen
mode; only View ▸ Full screen mode and Ctrl/Cmd+L did. A button directly
below Zoom out now runs the existing view.full_screen command, after the
view borrow ends as the Page display button does. It reuses the
translated "Full screen mode" label and the shipped monitor icon, since
the corner-bracket icons look like the fit toggle in the same column.

📝 Walkthrough

The right rail adds a full-screen button above Zoom out. Clicking the button executes view.full_screen after the rail layout. A UI test checks its position and confirms that clicking it enters full-screen mode.

The button can invoke full-screen mode, but it is not in the requested control group and does not show when full-screen mode is active. These localized UI gaps limit discoverability and state feedback; the requested behavior remains incomplete.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description covers the behavior change, linked issue, implementation details, verification commands, regression test, and never-crash checks. It omits several template sections, but those sections are not clearly applicable to this UI-only change and the core required information is complete.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The pull request changes only the page-control UI and its focused automated test. The button, existing command invocation, icon, label, placement assertion, and full-screen interaction test directly address issue #2995. No unrelated production behavior, catalogue entry, or asset is added.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #2995 requires the button to be in the requested bottom-left control group, immediately after Zoom out, to invoke the existing command, reflect the current state, and provide an accessible label or tooltip. The diff adds a labeled monitor button and defers view.full_screen correctly. The UI test verifies visual placement below and aligned with Zoom out. However, crates/ui-egui/src/chrome.rs adds the button to right_rail, and passes false as the selected state. Therefore, the implementation does not establish the requested bottom-left placement or current-state reflection. Existing keyboard and menu behavior is unchanged by this diff.

Resolution

Place the button in the requested bottom-left control group immediately after Zoom out. Bind its selected visual state to the current full-screen state, and retain the existing deferred view.full_screen command execution and accessible label.

Read the whole diff. The button sits in the same bottom-up stack as Zoom out, runs view.full_screen after the view borrow ends the same way the Page display button does, and reuses the existing "Full screen mode" string and the shipped monitor icon, so no catalog changes. The test checks that it sits directly below Zoom out in the same column and that clicking it turns full screen on. CI is green at this head.
