i18n: fill in the Simplified Chinese catalog for panels, dialogs and tooltips - #2253
linzhang779-maker wants to merge 7 commits into
Conversation
Fills the gaps in the zh-hans catalog so the converted panels read in
Chinese end to end: composition and render settings, the render queue,
text and tracking panels, the paint and viewer surfaces, forms, dialogs
and status messages.
Scope of this commit:
* 1468 English literals were collected from crates/ui-egui/src and
reviewed. 1226 were translated; 242 were deliberately left alone
(key names, colour-space identifiers such as Rec.2100 and ACEScg,
template tokens and array keys like blue[0]).
* 1087 of the 1226 land in the ui.rs catalog. The rest belong to the
menu catalog in i18n.rs and are covered separately.
* Rows whose English carries named placeholders ("{name}") are excluded:
tr_args only understands "{}".
* Every row is requested by a tr()/tr_args() call in a CONVERTED panel,
so every_row_is_used_by_a_converted_panel keeps passing.
* TRADITIONAL_CHINESE gains the same rows in the same order
(OpenCC s2t), because the two Chinese catalogs must stay identical.
cargo test -p effectcraft-ui-egui i18n: 40 passed, 0 failed.
The dock tabs (Project, Timeline, Effect Controls, Render Queue, ...) and the workspace bar (Standard, Small Screen, Learn, Review, Default) are drawn by the docking shell and the header themselves, so they never consulted a catalog and stayed in English even with zh-hans selected. * dock_ui.rs: resolve each tab title through i18n::label(self, "window.panel", ...), which already carries the Chinese wording in the menu catalog, and fall back to PanelKind::title(). * header.rs: wrap both workspace labels in tr(). * ui.rs: add the five workspace names to both Chinese catalogs. The five workspace rows are unique: "Learn" and "Default" already had a row, so those two are reused instead of being listed twice (catalogs_are_unique_and_keep_the_english_shape). cargo test -p effectcraft-ui-egui i18n: 40 passed, 0 failed.
placeholders and the dock's computed panel titles
The second wave of English left on screen after the catalogs were filled.
* widgets.rs: field() asks the catalog for its hint, so every search and
text field translates its placeholder ("Search project", ...).
* panels/project.rs: the column headers (Name, Type, Size, Label) and the
blank-area context menu (New Composition…, New Folder, Import File…).
* panels/timeline.rs: the column headers (Keys, Layer/Source Name,
Comment, Mode, Track Matte, Parent & Link, In, Out, Duration, Stretch)
and the same labels in the show/hide columns menu.
* dock_ui.rs: the computed tab titles ("Effect Controls {}", "Properties:
{}") are built from the window.panel menu label plus the layer's own
name, which stays project content.
* ui.rs: add New Folder, Mode and Track Matte; "Type" is the project
panel's Type column and the camera dialog's Type row, so 类型 rather
than 文字.
cargo test -p effectcraft-ui-egui i18n: 40 passed, 0 failed.
The injected rows were written wrapped, but rustfmt.toml asks for max_width = 160 with use_small_heuristics = "Max", so `cargo fmt --check` (the first step of `cargo xtask ci`) failed on three files. Reformat with cargo fmt. Only files this branch already touched are affected, so the diff stays scoped to the i18n work. cargo fmt --check: clean.

Translate the fallback for viewer panels.
PanelKind::Viewer(_) is not in PanelKind::ALL. A new viewer can have no assigned composition, so viewers::title() returns None. The viewer then reaches line 219 and displays the English Composition fallback.

…ace titles
Upstream has since routed dock panel titles and the workspace bar through
`command_label`, which reads the menu catalog and falls back to this panel
catalog. Our calls did the same job through `i18n::label` and `tr`; where the two
met, upstream's call stays and the comment explaining why the panel's own name
is interface text and only the layer's name is project content is kept.
Two rows we had added are dropped, both cases of translating something that is
not interface text:
- "Comp 1": a composition's name is the user's. Translating it also broke
`command_label_reads_the_menu_row_then_the_panel_row`, which expects a lookup
miss to leave the source alone.
- "Composition {}": the viewer tab now builds its title from the menu row for
"Composition" plus the composition name, so this row has no caller.

What this does
Fills the gaps in the zh-hans catalog so the converted panels read in Chinese end to end, and routes a few strings that were drawn outside the catalogs through them.

On a machine whose interface language is Chinese they read the translated labels from the menu catalog ini18n.rs, which this change does not touch, and fail. Both pass on an English-language machine, which is what CI runs.
