table.cellAlign {align: left|center|right|justify} sets the alignment of every paragraph in the target cells, as Table Layout ▸ Alignment does. anchor stays the vertical alignment and is optional when align is given; an unknown align is refused. Found by an agent run.
Table cells can be aligned horizontally using left, center, right, or justified alignment, with common aliases supported. Alignment applies to every paragraph in the selected cells.
Vertical anchoring can be set independently; it defaults to top when an anchor is specified. Changing horizontal alignment alone preserves the existing vertical anchor.
Bug Fixes
Invalid horizontal alignment or vertical anchor values are rejected, and invalid input does not change the document revision. Changes apply only to the selected cells.
The table.cellAlign command now supports horizontal alignment and optional vertical anchoring. It validates option types and values, applies horizontal alignment to every paragraph in selected cells, and preserves vertical anchoring when align is supplied without anchor.

Summary
Alignment options and selected-cell updates crates/engine/src/cmd/table.rs, crates/engine/src/tests.rs
The command description documents anchor and align. The implementation validates both options, supports alignment aliases, and updates target cells. The test checks selected-cell alignment, anchor behavior, invalid inputs, and unchanged document revision after errors.
Alignment can affect unintended cells when another table remains selected, or miss visible merged-cell text. These bounded cases need owner awareness or follow-up.

Before / after behavior
observed — Modified behavior in crates/engine/src/cmd/table.rs: The table.cellAlign command description now documents optional vertical anchor and horizontal align, including their defaults and that horizontal alignment applies to every paragraph.
observed — Modified behavior in crates/engine/src/cmd/table.rs: cell_align now validates align and anchor types and names, recognizes aliases for left, center, right, and justify, and applies horizontal alignment to every paragraph in each target cell. Unlike the previous implementation, which always set the vertical anchor (defaulting to top), an alignment-only request leaves the anchor unchanged; otherwise the anchor defaults to top and is set on each target cell.
observed — Modified behavior in crates/engine/src/tests.rs: Added table_cell_align_sets_the_horizontal_alignment, which checks that center and right alignment apply only to the specified cells, setting an anchor leaves other cells’ anchors unchanged, and invalid alignment or anchor values return errors without changing the document revision.

If table A has a cell selection and the caller supplies table B’s id without cells, this helper uses A’s coordinates on B. The new horizontal alignment then changes only those cells in B, rather than all cells in B. Use the selection only when its table ID matches the target ID.

Update the selection logic that initializes sel from st.selection.cells so it
uses those coordinates only when the selection’s table ID matches the target ID;
otherwise, treat cells as absent and preserve the existing fallback behavior.

Resolve explicit coordinates to merged-cell anchors.
If cells names a covered coordinate, the new alignment updates that covered cell instead of the merged cell’s text. For example, after merging [0,0] through [0,1], aligning [[0,1]] leaves the visible text unchanged. Table::merge moves that text to [0,0]. Resolve explicit coordinates to the merged-cell anchor before applying alignment. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the explicit-coordinate handling in the alignment path so coordinates
covered by a merged cell resolve to that cell’s anchor before alignment is
applied; preserve the existing behavior for coordinates that are already anchors
or are not merged.

What I read: the table.cellAlign change and its test. CI is green and the branch is clean against main.
Checked in real PowerPoint (Windows, COM, new temporary presentation, closed without saving): in a 2×2 table I set a two-paragraph cell's ParagraphFormat.Alignment to centre and its VerticalAnchor to middle, then saved. The cell XML has <a:pPr algn="ctr"/> on both paragraphs and <a:tcPr anchor="ctr"/> on the cell. That is the split this PR makes: horizontal align on every paragraph of the cell, vertical anchor on the cell, and align alone leaving the anchor untouched.
Not run: I did not build or run the Rust tests; I relied on CI. Not checked in PowerPoint: justify, and cells with merged ranges.
