Colour names, media ids after a paste, and pressing a table outside its cells (#1344 follow-ups) - #1348
Preset and system colour names (from Format: Pattern fill shows a gallery of every preset with Foreground and Background colors #1335): {"preset": name} and {"system": name} colour parameters accepted any name, and the writer saved it as a:prstClr / a:sysClr val, giving a file that fails schema validation. deckcraft-color has the ST_PresetColorVal names (including the later-edition aliases such as darkBlue and lightGray) and the ST_SystemColorVal names. Command parameters with an unknown name are rejected. The writer saves an unknown preset as black and an unknown system colour as windowText (keeping lastClr), so text bodies that reach the model by other paths still save valid files. The reader keeps what a file has.
Media ids after a paste or Accept Revision (from Paste: a table, bullet or slide from another deck keeps its own pictures and sounds #1289; the path predates it): media brought in from another deck keeps its id but did not raise the document's next id, so a picture inserted later could get the same id and draw the pasted picture. Both paths raise the next id past each item they add.
Pressing a table outside its cells (from Tables: dragging across cells selects a range of cells #1282): with a cell range selected, a press on the table outside its cells (the grab band around it) did nothing, so the table could not be moved until the range was cleared. That press now selects and moves the table like any shape, and ends the range. A click on that band of a selected table keeps the table selected; only a click in a cell puts the caret there.
Notes in docs/gaps.md
Copying a text range carries no media, so a picture bullet in copied text is lost; copying a cell range copies tab-separated text, not a table.
Automatic lists start only while Replace text as you type is on, and Backspace after one puts the typed lead back.
silent_refused_peers_do_not_delay_the_next_refusal asserts a time under 1 s and may fail on a loaded machine.
Tests
Each fails without its fix:
cmd::tests::preset_and_system_colors_keep_their_base (extended): unknown names are rejected; aliceBlue, darkBlue, ltSlateGrey and 3dDkShadow are accepted.
Fixed picture ID conflicts when pasting media or adopting revisions, preserving picture data and allowing new pictures to be added correctly.
Fixed dragging a table outside its cells so the table moves and the selected cell range clears.
Invalid preset and system color names are now handled safely when editing colors or saving presentations.
Documentation
Clarified when automatic lists start and how Backspace restores typed text, and documented known copying limitations for picture bullets and table-cell ranges.

Walkthrough
The PR adds preset and system color-name catalogs and validation, advances document media ID counters during imports, changes table press handling outside cells, and updates gap documentation.
Changes: Color name validation
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Color catalogs and membership checks crates/color/src/lib.rs
Adds public preset and system color catalogs and exact-membership functions.
Color parsing and serialization crates/engine/src/cmd/mod.rs, crates/pptx/src/write/dml.rs
Command parsing rejects unknown preset and system names. PPTX serialization uses black and windowText as fallbacks for unknown names. Tests cover recognized and unknown names.
Imported media ID allocation
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Media copying and ID allocation crates/engine/src/cmd/edit.rs, crates/engine/src/compare.rs, crates/engine/src/tests.rs
Clipboard and revision imports advance the document ID counter when they copy media with an unused ID. Regression coverage checks that subsequent picture IDs are unique and picture bytes remain correct.
Presses outside cells no longer restart cell selection or enter text editing through the selected-table paths. A regression test checks that dragging from outside the cells moves the table.
Gap documentation
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Gap entries and revision history docs/gaps.md
Adds a timing-test stability note, updates proofing behavior details, and documents copying gaps for picture bullets and table-cell ranges.
The described fixes have no identified issue requiring correction before merge. Normal validation remains appropriate.
Security architecture risk: Minimal · up to 7648c
The changes strengthen document validation and prevent imported pictures from colliding with later insertions. The reviewed paths remain within existing document-editing authority; no material security risk was found to be introduced or worsened.
Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The inspected changes affect the active presentation and its saved output through existing command, import, and pointer paths. Their demonstrated propagation is to document rendering, media identity, selection, and serialization—not to a newly introduced service, tenant, credential, or privileged execution boundary.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — Command input and file output apply separate color-name controls. Command parsing rejects unknown names before constructing their color reference; serialization validates names again, covering model values that did not pass through command parsing. This strengthens schema-token handling without establishing that the previous behavior was an exploitable injection vulnerability.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — The existing document allocator uses checked addition and returns failure rather than wrapping and reusing an ID. The changed import paths propagate allocation failures through the inspected transactional command boundary, preserving failure containment.

normal Hit::Shape branch to selected tables clicked within in_table_cell; keep
the existing text-shape behavior unchanged. Add a click-only regression test
verifying that clicking just outside a selected table does not enter text in its
edge cell.
