Agentic Workflow Orchestration Framework for Faith-Based Ministry Built by LHB Social Enterprise | Apache-2.0
AI Disclosure: Springwell-Keel is developed with AI-assisted tooling. The vision, direction, and ministry application are authored by Steven Earl Jones. This project is human-led and AI-assisted.
Springwell-Keel is a greenfield, open-source, agentic workflow orchestration framework built to serve churches and faith-based benevolence ministries. The core problem it solves: people in crisis walk through the doors of a church or ministry, receive one-time help, and disappear — no follow-up, no root cause detection. We call it band-aid churn, and it's quietly breaking the organizations built to catch people when everything else fails.
Springwell-Keel automates the follow-up, detects underlying need, and routes people to the right care lane before they're lost. Think of it as a sequenced care pipeline — built specifically for ministry contexts where staff is thin, volunteers are dwindling, and no one has time to chase down the people who need it most.
One agentic engine — the Keel Engine — powers three coordinated service lanes:
| Lane | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Lane A | Individual Journey Orchestration — intake, sensing, sequenced follow-up |
| Lane B | Organizational Service Catalog — matching people to the right care module |
| Lane C | Capability Sequencing & Readiness Handoff — routing across care domains without gaps |
We are building in public, from day zero. There is no legacy codebase. No inherited architecture. No patterns already baked in.
If you have been waiting for a project where you can shape the bones of a real agentic system before they calcify — the window is now.
Springwell-Keel is organized into distinct subsystems:
- Workflow Engine — orchestration layer (public)
- Reference Lane Environments — A, B, C implementations (public)
- Keel Engine — judgment layer, scoring models, routing logic (private, maintained by core team)
The public chassis is open source. The internal reasoning layer is deliberately kept private. This boundary is documented from day zero and will not change.
Phase 0 — Building in Public
Governance files are live. Architecture Decision Records are in progress. Core subsystem structure is being defined now.
This is the earliest possible moment to shape something real.
