Apple Silicon Printer Drivers brings back older printers that macOS 27 left behind. Canon, Epson, HP, Brother, Samsung and others shipped their Mac drivers as Intel-only and never updated them. Once Rosetta stopped running them, "The printer software is not compatible with this device" was the end of the road for a lot of perfectly good printers.

The installer replaces those drivers with native arm64 builds of Gutenprint and brlaser: 3,700+ models in one package, signed and notarized by Apple. It finds the USB printer, sets it up, and moves the old vendor driver aside without deleting anything. Everything it does is plain shell you can read, and releases are built on GitHub Actions with a build attestation.

I also maintain Slapss, a free, open source meeting reminder for the Mac menu bar. It follows the same rules: no accounts, no tracking.
