Needs admin rights in OS X Mavericks

Running the dd command with admin rights can be extremely dangerous. Inexperienced users might erase an internal hard disk this way. Therefor PiWriter does not enable admin rights by default. I don't have a Mac that can run Mavericks but I don't think you need admin rights for all devices either. If you re-partition a SD or USB disk using disk utility the need for admin rights should be gone.

Hello,

It worked on Mountain Lion, but i stopped working in Mavericks. Can you
tell me exactly the steps you think I should follow and I can test it for
you.

Some SD cards need admin rights to be able to write to them. If a card requires admin rights you can change it's permissions by right clicking on the disk's desktop icon, next click 'Get Info' and change the access permisions near the bottom of the pop-up. This might solve it.

Another way would be to format the card; open disk utility from spotlight. Select your SD in the list on the left (the main device not a partition). Next select the partition tab and repartition by selecting 1 partition from the drop down menu and select the msdos fat filesystem. Submit the action and enter admin password to start the partitioning. From here on you should no longer need admin rights when writing to the device.

Not quite sure if this is the same error, but when i'm trying to run PiWriter 1.0.4 i'm getting this error and PiWriter quits immediately on Mavericks:
