Summary

Layer 5 of 6, stacked on #1669. This layer is now documentation/changelog only; the rollout gate was moved earlier to the daemon layer (#1667) and its UI state (#1669).

  • docs/remote-terminal.md with architecture, security, platform boundaries, and QA guidance.
  • Experimental remote-terminal changelog entry.
  • Keeps the upstream roadmap unchanged until the feature actually merges.

Atomic commits unique to this layer

  1. docs: add remote terminal architecture and QA guide
  2. chore(app): add remote terminals changelog entry
  3. docs: keep upstream roadmap unchanged until terminal feature merges

Validation — 2026-08-11

  • Unique diff is 2 files: documentation plus changelog.
  • git diff --check — passed.
  • Merge-tree with current origin/main — clean.

Stack workflow

Because these contributor branches live in a fork and I do not have push access to slopus/happy, GitHub requires every upstream PR to target main. Descendant PRs therefore show cumulative diffs.

Only the first unmerged layer is ready for review. Later layers stay draft. After each parent lands, I will restack descendants onto the updated main before promoting the next PR; this remains correct whether maintainers rebase-merge or squash-merge.

Merge order: #1666#1667#1668#1669#1670#1671.
