A Scoop bucket for the Windows utilities by Uwe Sieber: USBDLM, USB Device Tree Viewer, DriveCleanup, RemoveDrive and a long tail of device and storage tools. Everything downloads from the author's own server.

Licensing

The MIT licence here covers only the manifests and tooling, not the packaged software. Most tools are freeware; the author allows commercial use but not modification or redistribution through downloader wrappers.

com-port-man and usbdlm are not freeware, and not free for private use. Free only for non-profit education and free public libraries; everyone else gets 30 days, then one licence per computer. Full terms ship inside each archive.

Versions

Versions come from the executable's own FileVersion, not the product page, which is often stale and disagrees with the shipped binary. Builds without a version resource fall back to the page version tagged +web.N.

One-off: msg-box-man reports 0.09.0073 where the page claimed 1.0, so the correct version is lower than what was published. Run scoop update msg-box-man --force once.

Maintenance

bin\sync.ps1 is the only updater. Upstream serves every tool from a stable filename, so it tracks ETag, Last-Modified and SHA-256 in cache/downloads.csv; an unchanged download costs one HEAD. Manifests carry no checkver or autoupdate; per-app exceptions live in config/sync.json. The Sync workflow runs it daily and commits if the tests pass.

test.ps1 needs Pester (>= 5.2.0) and BuildHelpers (>= 2.0.1) and reads $env:SCOOP_HOME. Run formatjson.ps1 and test.ps1 before a pull request.

Not packaged: DOS-era and Windows 9x material (DOSFon, UMBPCI, VESASav, Off5s, DPMSTest, the util.html tools), *_src.zip source archives, frozen Windows 2000/XP builds, and third-party utilities the author only mirrors.
