🚨 Severity: HIGH
πŸ’‘ Vulnerability: The _normalize_resource function previously checked for empty resources using exact string matching (if resource == VOID_RESOURCE:). A string containing only whitespace (e.g., ' ') bypassed this check and was incorrectly processed, evaluating to the internal [('@empty', 'all')] structure which bypasses standard empty resource checks.
🎯 Impact: Attackers supplying whitespace-only resource strings could potentially match privileged internal resource assignments instead of being safely rejected/normalized to an empty resource list.
πŸ”§ Fix: Updated the check to evaluate if not resource.strip(): so that whitespace strings are robustly treated as empty resources ([]), ensuring no malicious bypasses.
βœ… Verification: Ran uv run pytest test/ and uv run ruff check which both passed successfully. Updated test_empty_resource to reflect the fixed expectation.
