A lightweight Home Assistant App that measures outdoor brightness by sampling a single frame per interval from an RTSP camera stream, analyzing it with ffmpeg + numpy, and publishing the brightness percentage to MQTT.
This static version of FFmpeg is optimized for the Doorbell Camera Preprocessor App running on RPi-5 but may be useful in other contexts.
