There are examples in code to deploy your first own cloud on bare metal
To use the solution you need of:
- Linux on your desktop, or use VM with a huge RAM space to virtualize it. Yes there are a lot of commercial or free alternatives, such as MacOS, Solaris, OpenBSD and FreeBSD - feel free use one of these. Do not use Windows OS, because you will hit issues with the filesystem conception, WSL and etc.
- Terraform - https://www.terraform.io/ Download here
- Text editor - any plain text, but recommended is Geany with terraform extensions. See geany-hcl-syntax-highlighting. PyCharm (Community Edition) is powerful Jetbrains IDE with terraform (HCL) support
- Bare metal server with installed Proxmox VE v6+ 7+ recommended. Ask your hosting company or rent server. Good almost Cheap offers in Europe can be found in Scaleway - Dedibox or Hertzner - Root server
