Cattle mortality insurance claims automation for livestock underwriters and ranch operators
BovineBonds is an early-stage prototype exploring end-to-end automation of bovine mortality insurance claims — an industry that still runs heavily on fax machines and manual paperwork. The concept targets ranch operators who need to file indemnity claims quickly and underwriters who need accurate, verifiable data to process them.
- Capture ear tag RFID to identify the animal and anchor the claim
- Pull the animal's health history tied to that tag
- Draft an indemnity claim from captured data before the operator leaves the scene
- Route carcass disposition to a nearby USDA-certified facility
- Single workflow from death event to submitted claim
None wired up yet. The concept targets ag insurance carriers, USDA carcass inspection records, and livestock auction reporting networks as future integration points.
This is a prototype codebase laying out the core claim-filing workflow. No production database, carrier API connections, or USDA data pipeline is in place yet — the current structure sketches the data model and flow from RFID capture through claim draft.
