External holders don’t fit

I re-printed the case with the external holder cutout for the controller since my controller (elite c) and TRRS connector didn’t work with the built in controller area. But when I printed the external holder (linked from the UI and this repo) the external holder doesn’t fit at all (not even that close to be a tolerance issue).

Any recommendations on external holders for the elite c that actually fit with this model?

Good to know! I've never used an external holder myself, but hopefully there's an easy fix to make this possible.

Was the fit issue the external holder not fitting in the case or the Elite C not fitting in the holder?

I checked the external holder dimensions and it looks like the width and height are correct, but the gap left for the walls is much shallower than the gap

The length of the holder also looks a little smaller than the Elite-C dimensions. Perhaps if you lengthen the model by scaling it before printing, you will have something that fits?

I also don't add many new features to the dactyl generator these days. I'd suggest you checkout Cosmos which is what became of V2 of this project. The Pro Micro - 34.7mm (USB-C) will be a little large, but if it's unworkable I can much more easily add a size for the Elite-C there. Unlike this project, all the Cosmos microcontroller holders are parametric (link to where all the sizes are defined).

The issue is the external holder not fitting into the case. The Elite C actually fits very nicely into the holder, but I cannot get the holder to slot into the case. I believe you are correct with the dimensions, it all looks correct, but the front of the actual mounting portion interferes with the walls of the case.

Thanks for the info. I'll see what I can get working, and I'll definitely check out Cosmos as the options there may get me what I need.

Well, still need to reprint the case, but I was able to get the holders printed and fitting well using the Cosmos tooling. Thanks for the reference and the great work on all this stuff. Here is the controller dimensions I used
