I'm putting this out now because it took me already way too long to get this started and I'm off to another 10-day hike tomorrow where I probably again won't be able to do work much on this.
This PR contains the selectivity repository feature from my Master's thesis. The code in its current form, however, contains ugly workarounds in many places, so it is most likely unfit for a merge as of now.
Nevertheless, I want to at least get the process rolling.
