- Import MockProvider
- Register MockProvider before Tauri Builder setup

- Call host.start() after registering MockProvider to enable polling
- Track sensor IDs per provider in ProviderEntry for accurate sensor_count
- Improve RwLock error handling in get_providers_status command
- Remove unused tracing dependency from Tauri app Cargo.toml

Fixes code review findings from feat/provider-host branch.
The host.start() call spawns Tokio tasks via tokio::spawn(), which
requires an active Tokio runtime. Moving it to Tauri's setup hook
ensures the runtime is running before spawning provider tasks.
Use tauri::async_runtime::spawn to ensure Tokio runtime is active
when host.start() calls tokio::spawn internally.
- Handle RwLock poison in get_providers_status gracefully
- Include device name in LinuxProvider sensor IDs to prevent collision
- Implement min_poll_interval_ms clamping in spawn_poll_task
- Use thiserror derive for ProviderError Display impl
- Extract shared test providers to common module
- Rename provider_id to device_id in SensorInfo for accuracy
- Polling was using 'cpu.temperature' but discovery registered 'cpu.coretemp.temperature'
- Include device_name in polling format to match discovery
- Configure git identity in opencode workflow to allow CI fixes

PR Review Summary

The PR addresses several post-merge issues, but I found a few remaining problems:

🔴 Bugs

1. Multiple temperature sensors from same device will collide (linux.rs:266-276)

The sensor ID doesn't include the temp index, so temp1_input, temp2_input, etc. from the same hwmon device all produce the same ID like cpu.coretemp.temperature:

let index: String = name // index is extracted but never used!
  .chars()
  .skip(4)
  .take_while(|c| c.is_ascii_digit())
  .collect();

// Sensor ID omits index
let sensor_id = format!("cpu.{}.temperature", device_name);

Fix: Include the index in the sensor ID:

format!("cpu.{}.temp{}.temperature", device_name, index)

2. Sensor ID format mismatch between discovery and poll (linux.rs:519)

In find_temp_sensors, non-CPU/GPU devices produce {device_name}.temperature:

format!("{}.temperature", device_name.replace(' ', "_"))

But in poll_temperatures, they produce {device_name}.{device_name}.temperature:

let sensor_id_str = format!("{}.{}.temperature", sensor_prefix, device_name);

These won't match, causing samples to fail to push.

🟡 Code Quality

3. Duplicate test providers (host.rs:402-551)

The inline PanickingProvider, PollPanickingProvider, and HealthyProvider duplicate the shared test module in tests/common/mod.rs. The inline versions should be removed and tests should use the shared module.

4. Potential panic in async context (lib.rs:89)

host_clone.write().unwrap().start();

If the lock is poisoned, this panics in the async runtime. Consider:

if let Ok(mut host) = host_clone.write() {
  host.start();
} else {
  tracing::error!("Provider host lock poisoned");
}

✅ Good Changes

  • thiserror derive usage is clean
  • RwLock poison handling in get_providers_status is correct
  • min_poll_interval_ms clamping is properly implemented
  • Git identity configuration in workflow fixes the CI issue

… polling

Implement complete provider system for hardware sensor management:

- feat(provider-host): core infrastructure
  - ProviderHost with async worker task management
  - Graceful shutdown with CancellationToken and timeout protection
  - Provider panic containment with catch_unwind
  - Defensive sensor registration on poll (auto-register unknown sensors)
  - Health tracking per provider

- feat(providers): LinuxProvider implementation
  - CPU utilization from /proc/stat
  - Memory metrics from /proc/meminfo
  - Temperature sensors from /sys/class/hwmon
  - Unified sensor ID generation for discovery/polling consistency

- feat(tauri): integrate provider system
  - Register SensorStore with Tauri state manager
  - Setup hook spawns provider tasks via async_runtime
  - Tauri commands: get_providers_status, list_available_sensors

- fix: runtime issues from code review
  - Register SensorStore with .manage() for list_available_sensors
  - Unified make_temp_sensor_id() prevents ID mismatch
  - Provider shutdown() called before worker task join

- test: comprehensive test coverage
  - ProviderHost unit tests with MockProvider
  - LinuxProvider tests for CPU, memory, temperature
  - Tauri command serialization tests
  - Concurrency and property-based tests for sensor store
