The Analysis Grand Challenge (AGC) project investigates approaches for performing physics analysis tasks at the end of the full data analysis pipeline.
Given the increasing capabilities of Large Language Models for code generation, this project explores their use for physics analysis tasks in the context of the AGC.
We will investigate this from multiple angles: evaluating LLM-generated AGC code against a human-written reference, expanding the AGC test infrastructure to perform more extensive correctness tests, and exploring partial or full LLM-driven rewrites of software dependencies to study possible performance gains.
We retain some flexibility to adjust based on the most promising directions identified at the start of the project and throughout.
