MantisChronoTag - A MantisBT plugin allows you to schedule tasks. For example, you can automatically clone and reopen an issue when a certain date arrives.
This plugin allows you to perform a set of predefined actions with issues on a schedule by simply assigning them tags with a special name and description.
The tag name must begin with the prefix "chrono" (defined in settings), for example, "chronoMonthly" or "chronoHappyNewYear.
The tag description should consist of two parts separated by a comma: "action, schedule".
An action is one of the predefined actions from the following list:
- "clone" - the issue will be cloned. The cloned task will include all tags except this one.
- "open" - the issue will be re-opened once and tag deleted (as defined in 'bug_reopen_status' option).
- "open_repeat" - the issue will be re-opened repeatedly and tag will be kept (as defined in 'bug_reopen_status' option).
- "close" - the issue will be closed once and tag deleted (as defined in 'bug_closed_status_threshold' option).
- "close_repeat" - the issue will be closed repeatedly and tag will be kept (as defined in 'bug_closed_status_threshold' option).
A schedule is a text description of the date when the action should be performed. The date can be in absolute ("1/17/2025", "5 Apr 2026", "2022-06-02T16:58:35+00:00"), relative ("tomorrow", "first Sat of July", "last day of next month") or complex formats. The full list of supported formats can be found here: https://www.php.net/manual/datetime.formats.php. In addition, the following substitute words are supported:
- "quarter_1" - The first month of the current quarter ("January", "April", "July" or "October").
- "quarter_2" - The second month of the current quarter ("February", "May", "August" or "November").
- "quarter_3" - The third month of the current quarter ("March", "June", "September" or "December").
The date is counted relative to the issue update date, it is updated when an action is performed.
- Download and extract the plugin files to your computer.
- Copy the MantisChronoTag catalogue into the MantisBT plugin directory.
- In MantisBT, go to the Manage -> Manage Plugins page. You will see a list of installed and currently not installed plugins.
- Click the Install button next to "Mantis ChronoTag" to install a plugin.
- In MantisBT, you should set up a scheduled periodic call to the "scripts/cronjob.php" script, as the plugin only performs its useful work on the
EVENT_CRONJOBevent of this script.
- Select an issue that will serve as a template.
- Add a tag to it with a name beginning with "chrono".
- Edit the description of this tag, specifying the action and schedule separated by commas.
- Check the result by returning to the issue view.
