Redraws the Wasp's sprite and sizes a flyer's shadow to its sprite.

  • Wasp sprite: drawn after the model's top view without the abdomen and stinger, which hang under the body (the weapon bone and below), or the small wings on its engines' flanks (Lengine_wing, Rengine_wing). What remains is 7.0 m by 6.2 m, against the whole model's 8.6 m by 9.6 m: a pointed fuselage with its canopy and tail fins, a white thruster pod on each side, and two long engines outboard on struts, armoured in the team's colour, with glowing nozzles. It no longer animates an attack. It hovers.
  • Shadow: a flyer's shadow was a cross sized by its collision radius, about 9.1 m by 8.4 m for a Wasp (radius 3.5 m), larger than the new sprite. A flyer with a sprite now casts an ellipse 0.84 of its sprite's footprint (6.2 m by 5.5 m for the Wasp). A flyer with no sprite keeps the cross.

Checks

  • models/wasp.svg is exported again, and export-models.mjs --check passes.
  • The sprite was compared with the model render at the same scale. The demo, played at tick 300, shows the new sprite and shadow.
  • No Rust changed.

The Wasp's sprite was a fuselage between two engine pods with a stinger it
thrust forward as it fired, the stinger drawn on top where the model hangs
it under the body. It is now drawn after the model's top view without the
parts the top view cannot show or that crowd it: the abdomen and stinger
under the body (the `weapon` bone and below) and the small wings on the
engines' flanks (`Lengine_wing`, `Rengine_wing`). What remains, 7.0 m by
6.2 m against the whole model's 8.6 m by 9.6 m, is the pointed fuselage
with its canopy and tail fins, a thruster pod each side and the two long
engines outboard, armoured in the team's colour. It no longer animates an
attack; it hovers, and its nozzles glow.

models/wasp.svg is exported again; export-models.mjs --check passes.

A flyer's shadow was a cross sized by its collision radius, 1.3 and 1.2
radii out: for a Wasp (3.5 m) about 9.1 m long and 8.4 m wide, under a
sprite now 7.0 m by 6.2 m, so the shadow outgrew the unit. A flyer with a
sprite now casts an ellipse 0.84 of the footprint its sprite frames
(Sprites.SIZE): 6.2 m by 5.5 m for the Wasp. One without a sprite keeps
the cross. Seen on the demo at tick 300.
