A 2D game built in Unreal Engine 5, demonstrating gameplay programming, Blueprint scripting, level creation, animation integration, and core game design principles. Created as a portfolio project to showcase Unreal Engine development beyond 3D.
Escape2D is a 2D game built in Unreal Engine 5. It was created to show that I can apply Unreal's gameplay and Blueprint systems to 2D game design β handling sprites/flipbooks, 2D movement, level layout, and animation β not just 3D projects.
- 2D gameplay programming β player movement and interaction logic in a 2D space.
- Blueprint scripting β gameplay events and logic wired through Unreal's visual scripting.
- Level creation β hand-designed 2D level layout and progression.
- Animation integration β animated sprites/flipbooks driven by gameplay state.
- Game design fundamentals β pacing, challenge, and player guidance through the level.
| Area | Approach |
|---|---|
| Dimension | 2D (Unreal Paper2D-style sprite/flipbook workflow) |
