Historical medicine in Lancet & Linen is fictionalised gameplay, not medical guidance. Procedures are period motifs with stated limits; the game does not claim their effectiveness.
The game follows a daily rhythm: assess a patient through period-framed signs, choose a bounded in-game response, manage supplies and household costs, and decide what to pursue next. Consequences accumulate across the campaign rather than resetting at the end of a single encounter.
- Treat patients, plan next-day regimens, and learn techniques from mentors.
- Operate a stall or Badestube; buy stock, craft supplies, and meet daily costs.
- Travel between Franconian towns by cart, with road events and local markets.
- Build a household: property, staff, loyalty, training, courtship, and an heir.
- Earn standing through service, offices, titles, and civic relationships.
- Follow Acts I–III, journalled choices, and multiple endings, including a dynasty path.
The project takes inspiration from the social and economic breadth of games such as The Guild, while its title, setting, writing, and systems are original.
The web build is available at lancetlinen.minh.systems. It works on desktop and touch devices; landscape is recommended on phones. The included web-app manifest supports “Add to Home Screen”.
