Faster serial loads, a load summary line, whole lines under -v; 0.7.0 - #51
On Windows the serial I/O thread's 2 ms read timeout ran a full 15.6 ms timer tick, and each bulk frame queued to the thread waited out that tick. With timeBeginPeriod(1) a 1.8 MB PS-EXE over an FT232H loads in 1.86 s (~990 kB/s), down from 3.4 s. On Linux one write per 8 KB frame, up from 256-byte pieces, cuts the same load from 1823 to 1615 ms. Setting the FTDI latency timer to 1 ms changed nothing at pipeline depth 4.
After every load psxmon prints loaded N bytes in T ms: A kB/s average, P kB/s peak, with or without -v. Under -v the target's console text is written to stdout one whole line at a time, so a psxmon: link line can't end up in the middle of a TTY line that arrived in two reads.
With -v a TTY fragment printed without its newline had the next link line written onto it, so lines looked clipped. Console text now goes out a line at a time under -v. Every load ends in one line with the bytes, the time and the link's average and peak rate, -v or not.
On Windows the I/O thread's 2 ms read timeout lasted a whole 15.6 ms tick and every bulk frame waited behind it. A 1.8 MB load over an FT232H went from ~530 to ~990 kB/s with timeBeginPeriod(1). On Linux one write per bulk frame instead of 256-byte pieces took the same load from 1016 to 1147 kB/s.

📝 Summary
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Load completion output now reports image size, elapsed time, and average and peak upload rates. It also indicates when compression was used.
With verbose output enabled, target text is written to standard output one complete line at a time.
Documentation
Updated the run command documentation to describe the load summary and verbose output behavior.
The run command now reports image size, elapsed time, and average and peak upload rates. Console output uses a shared line formatter. Serial write chunk sizes and timer behavior now vary by platform.

Summary
Platform-specific transport settings Cargo.toml, src/transport.rs
Write chunk sizes now vary by platform. Opening a serial transport requests 1 ms timer ticks once per process on Windows.
Run tracks upload progress across segments and reports image bytes, elapsed time, average and peak rates, and LZ4 use. Tests check summaries for detached runs with and without LZ4.
Shared console line formatting src/console.rs, src/lib.rs, src/main.rs
ConsoleLines handles line prefixes, buffering, and final output. Run uses it for console output and flushes held text at line end.

pcsx-redux/psxmon#48: Adds detached run behavior that PR #51 tests and reports with load summaries.
Merge Risk: Low · up to 7ca5b
Loads can complete, but reported peak rates and verbose console output can be wrong in specific cases. A long-lived Windows process can also retain the faster timer after serial use. These should be fixed or explicitly accepted before merge.

- Around line 41-50: Update the `feed` logic so a large buffer emits only
through its last newline first, keeping any trailing incomplete line in
`self.held`; apply `HOLD_MAX` to that remaining incomplete line rather than
emitting it with the complete lines.
Review comments at @src/main.rs:
- Around line 658-666: Update the run flow that calls s.run and s.run_until_stop
to invoke end_console_line() before returning on either error; also flush it in
the detach branch before its early return. Preserve the existing success paths
and error propagation.
Review comments at @src/rate.rs:
- Around line 43-49: Update RateMeter::peak to evaluate every later endpoint at
least PEAK_SPAN after each start and retain the maximum valid rate, rather than
checking only the first eligible endpoint. Preserve the existing per_second
calculation and handling of endpoints shorter than PEAK_SPAN.
Review comments at @src/transport.rs:
- Around line 160-168: Replace the process-wide ONCE behavior in fine_timer with
lifetime-aware tracking so active SerialTransport instances share a successful
timeBeginPeriod(1) request; update SerialTransport::drop to release its
ownership and call timeEndPeriod(1) only when the last transport closes and the
request succeeded, allowing a later open to request the timer period again.
