Blocker updated: Pithead #2988The runner moved bench-ci#1025 to Pithead#2988; that issue remains open. Closing the source issue did not repair the fixture. Job Draft #541 contains the replay diagnostics, focused regressions and corrected docs. GitHub coverage on the prior head failed in the replay regression, while the regular suite and other checks passed. The local replay test passes, but the coverage cause remains unexplained because child logs were deleted. Head |

Scheduling candidate queuedThe completed accounting runs show refreshes at nice 19 with substantial scheduler delay: one 55.672-second pass consumed 1.750 seconds of CPU and the shell alone waited 9.222 seconds for scheduling. Job 1970 stopped in its preliminary pools apply, before a thermal observation; job 1971 published pools at 88 seconds. Full statuses, logs and artifacts were reviewed. These observations do not attribute the remaining wall time or establish a common thermal/pools cause. Head c9c4ce0 gives the shared refresh service normal CPU priority while retaining idle disk I/O. The unsupported clock-read optimization was removed; the existing rendered-unit regression and behavior docs were corrected. Static implementation and security reviews are clean, with hardware acceptance pending. Fresh exact-head proof is queued as 1978@c9c4ce036c7251fe03b2ba5575bd3a871b989bbb (thermal), 1979@c9c4ce036c7251fe03b2ba5575bd3a871b989bbb (pools) and 1980@c9c4ce036c7251fe03b2ba5575bd3a871b989bbb (connect/API polling impact). Mining and apply diagnostics queuedFull review of jobs 1978/1979/1980 at c9c4ce0 confirms all failed to establish mining work. Both replays stopped during an initial scalar apply before publication observation, and API impact had no live hashrate baseline. Their observed Nice=0 refreshes were fast, but missing mining load prevents causal acceptance. The same no-job assertion exists in #545 on an earlier develop run; a shared cause is unproven and the evidence was added there. Head 0b888dd adds fixed-schema miner state/error counts and validated settlement status to the existing queued harness. Focused regressions, lint, formatter, topology and file-budget checks passed; verifier/security review clear diagnostics only. Job 1981@0b888dd357f5e223e7ece55b895bec73392d15f4 is queued for the shared mining/scalar path and thermal replay. The PR body retains every regenerated evidence block unedited; failed history remains failed. Root-cause and full hardware acceptance remain unfinished; no Ready for review claim is made. |

Blocked: borrowed-worker mining prerequisiteBlocked on bench-ci#1042. Job 1981@0b888dd357f5e223e7ece55b895bec73392d15f4 failed to obtain Stratum work/shares and reported network-error matches despite healthy stack preflight. The miner service stayed active; two scalar applies settled, but DONATION=1 remained pending for 90 seconds and thermal publication was never observed. Full status, log, inventory and both artifacts were reviewed. Restoration and baseline verification succeeded. Fast Nice=0 refreshes without mining do not establish the root-cause correction. The scheduling candidate, focused regression, corrected docs and bounded diagnostics are pushed; all eight current-head GitHub checks pass, and diagnostic verifier/security reviews are clean. Loaded thermal/pools and API impact acceptance and final causal review remain unfinished. The bench maintainer or authorized devops workflow must investigate and verify usable mining work with the approved fixture and preserved identity/payout/configuration, or identify a concrete product fault for handoff. That evidence and resolution on #1042 will unblock fresh exact-head proofs. No manual hardware change or blind rerun was performed. All regenerated evidence is in draft PR #541; no Ready for review claim is made. The independent worker-root discovery defect is separately filed as RigForge #556; its cause has not been assigned to these failures. |

Mining restored; thermal proof acceptedbench-ci#1042 is closed with trusted Devops repair and verification. I inspected the full status/log and both artifacts of 1983@0b888dd357f5e223e7ece55b895bec73392d15f4: fresh mining work/share were observed, and the exact thermal change published as 102 in a newer enriched feed at 26 seconds and persisted through 295 seconds. Loaded Nice=0 refreshes took 2.063–5.148 seconds with much lower measured scheduler delay. Baseline and worker restoration succeeded; historical failures remain failed. Separate pools proof 1986@0b888dd357f5e223e7ece55b895bec73392d15f4 and native connect/API impact proof 1987@0b888dd357f5e223e7ece55b895bec73392d15f4 are submitted. All eight current-head GitHub checks pass. Their complete evidence and final adversarial acceptance review remain outstanding; PR #541 stays draft. The PR body contains every freshly regenerated evidence block unedited. The independent preflight-target mismatch is filed as bench-ci#1047 and does not block the verified current prerequisite. |

Ready for reviewThe shared refresh unit now uses normal CPU priority while preserving idle disk I/O. Loaded reproductions measured roughly 55-second refreshes under Nice=19, including substantial scheduler wait; current Nice=0 proofs show bounded publication at 26 seconds for thermal and 41 seconds for pools, persisting through the observation window. The unsupported clock-read optimization was removed. Current-head proofs 1983, 1986 and 1987 are complete at Unknown historical configuration/timing remains explicit. The native impact test uses an API-enabled baseline; it does not isolate API-disabled mining cost. Other hardware phases and long-duration stress were not run because this change targets refresh publication and API impact. The draft is ready for the separate review session; it remains unmerged. |

Adversarial review — RETURNReviewed Acceptance: repair the shared producer delay so an applied thermal cutoff and the separate exact pools change reach a newer enriched feed within the unchanged 90-second observation window under real mining. Establish the cause with measured queued reproductions, retain reservation/configuration/identity/restoration and privacy, add regressions that reject stale or unsuccessful observations, and correct the existing docs. The latest developer Ready comment is held to this same bar. Blocking finding — The submitted hardware records are real successes, and the scheduling measurements support the production correction; this review does not rewrite those conclusions. The defect is the new validation path accepting unsuccessful reads, which its current tests omit. The changed credentials use stdin/private scratch storage, no listener or dependency was added, and the source/history secret scan is clean. Ponytail review found no justified cut: the diagnostics implement the accepted investigation; the unsupported optimization was removed. Version/release files are untouched. Failed status reads emitted the new fixed failure marker rather than supplying parsed status; later successful reads established acceptance. Loaded Nice=0 refreshes lasted 3.378–4.732 seconds, and restoration/baseline verification succeeded. Pools proof 1990 ended in error before the candidate replay launched: the fixture refused the private probe because it did not preserve the selected worker identity. The full status/log and empty artifact inventory were inspected; this supplies no pools acceptance result. The new pools proof establishes fresh mining work/share and exact-change publication at 32 seconds, within the unchanged deadline, persisting through the final 296-second observation. Transient failed reads were treated as unknown until successful observations; the identity guard remained enforced. Its full status/log, inventory and both artifacts were inspected. No duplicate proof or further host change was requested. The failed 1990 job remains an error. The renewed adversarial verifier accepts the shared root correction, failed-read fix and regression evidence, completed thermal/pools proofs and unchanged acceptance predicates with no remaining findings. Security review is clean on this unchanged head. The PR stays draft for the separate reviewer. Give the shared API refresh service normal CPU scheduling (
Nice=0), retaining idle disk I/O. The cached HTTP service stays at idle CPU priority. The existing rendered-unit regression requires both settings; operations and integration documentation describe that policy. The earlier CPU-clock-read optimization was removed because its controlled comparison saved only milliseconds and did not explain the stale feed.The loaded reconstructed workload reproduced delayed direct-feed publication: thermal first appeared at 108 seconds and pools at 98 seconds, beyond the unchanged 90-second assertion (1968/1969). Timer dispatch continued; repeated complete refreshes took roughly 53–55 seconds. Accounting under Nice=19 in 1971 measured a 55.672-second complete refresh using 1.750 seconds of CPU, including waited-for children, with 9.222 seconds of scheduler wait in the profiler shell alone. This demonstrates scheduling delay under the idle CPU policy. Residual wall time is not attributed to child scheduler delay or I/O by those counters.
The production correction is one shared scheduling setting. Existing queued diagnostics now collect bounded CPU accounting, helper durations, timer/service state, feed timestamps, mining error-category counts and settlement status. Separate thermal and pools replay phases use the runner's private fixture and reservation. Tests cover validation, exact IDs, unchanged deadlines, malformed/missing accounting and service fields, private-error suppression and restoration. No new dependency was added.
Ponytail review: removed the unsupported optimization and obsolete A/B path; reused the merged profiler, existing mining gate and shared replay window. No speculative abstraction was retained.
Decisions taken
Followed the operator's default: reconstruct retained jobs 1825/1835, including max_temp_c 100 -> 102 and the 90-second direct-feed assertion; run job 1906's pools-publication sequence separately. Preserve known scalar inputs, mining, apply order and recorded timing without inventing differences. The recorded sequence is thermal 100 -> 101 -> 100, DONATION 0 -> 1 -> 0, watchdog interval 5 -> 6 -> 5, approved private pools probe, then the thermal 100 -> 102 observation. Setup and settlement follow service/apply completion rather than guessed historical delays.
Unknown historical details remain unknown: initial worker config/check-out, exact thread/affinity/tuning workload, original pool-probe payload and precise inter-apply timing where output was buffered. Retained coordinator snapshots are not substituted for initial worker configuration. The approved fixture is an equivalent reconstruction; it does not recover those missing inputs or prove that all historical thermal and pools delays share a cause.
Deployment prerequisite bench-ci#952 was verified through its trusted Devops completion: installed hooks, guarded restore commands, directory repair, healthy baseline and independent sync. Fixture support from bench-ci#1017 was deployed through #1024. Pithead#2988's earlier fixture provisioning and bench-ci#1042's mining prerequisite repair were completed; the later #2988 recurrence was also resolved by the completed exact-head pools proof documented above. No manual rig/bench action or runner workaround was performed by this worker. Historical failures retain their original conclusions.

Other hardware phases and long-duration stress were not run because this change concerns refresh publication and API impact. Historical unknowns remain explicit above.

1842/1854 failed before checkout on an unreachable live-stack prerequisite; 1867 remained an error because baseline verification lacked an explorer tip. 1874/1876 and 1916/1917 were fast contract comparisons that did not reproduce the slow workload, so they were not accepted as causal proof. 1936 stopped before replay on fixture identity validation. 321 established a thermal fixture result; 1967 was superseded before execution. 1968/1969 reproduced delayed publication; 1970 stopped at preliminary pools settlement, while 1971 supplied the old-priority accounting comparison.
1978/1979/1980 and 1981 lacked fresh mining work and therefore did not establish loaded acceptance. The actual mining prerequisite was subsequently repaired under bench-ci#1042; those earlier failures remain failed. The earlier develop no-job occurrence (292) remains owned by RigForge#545; a common cause was not inferred.
Separate findings remain scoped to their owning issues: RigForge#554 (pre-existing ordinary-control token arguments), RigForge#556 (configured worker-root discovery), bench-ci#1047 (preflight checking a different stack from the worker's mining target), and Pithead#2997 (earlier startup/rollback defect). None was silently folded into this fix. Corrupted historical helper-end timestamp fields were tracked separately in bench-ci#1010 and excluded from complete helper spans.
