Understand the Task

Description

In order to achieve the goals defined in #384, we should discuss the technical implementation and put it into writing. Needs to be aligned with SIG Extensibility.

Topics to be covered:

• OCM as standard
• Hierarchical structure
  • e.g. Crossplane providers are subresources of Crossplane
  • e.g. Velero plugins are subresources of Velero
• Metadata for discoverability e.g. service-provider-crossplane needs to be able to discover providers and provider versions
• API: Do we use the OCM controller CRDs or do we need a new CRD?

Any further valuable resources.
