Release objective: stabilize the Logs API and ship ready correctness/performance work without allowing stale features to delay GA. Gates: - 2026-08-21: PR readiness cutoff; candidates must be rebased, active, and reviewable. - 2026-08-28: Logs API GA go/no-go and module-set design approval. Classify all Logs compliance audits; API-relevant gaps block GA, while SDK-only gaps require an explicit defer decision. - 2026-09-11: API and feature freeze. - 2026-09-18: Merge freeze; release-blocking fixes only afterward. - 2026-09-21 through 2026-09-25: prerelease generation, gorelease, contrib compatibility, changelog, and docs. - 2026-10-05: target release date. Use the existing release process for v1.46.0. Work that misses its readiness gate should be removed from this milestone.
